It kills me how incredibly stupid he sounded. "and uhh, and uhh...tradition, playing tradition. Great team. chicago." Eh. Good for him i guess, too bad being a smart ass doesn't pay millions like playing football does. If mouthing off to authority figures was a sport, I would have been pro before i was out of diapers according to the parents.

Clayton is reporting that it is 6 yrs 91.5 million with 42 million guaranteed. Wow, just wow.

People are actually mad that the Pats were unwilling to pay this? i'd think they'd be insane if they were willing to.

Not upset at this at all, it would have been a luxury, but too many holes in the dyke...

It would have been nice to have the Talent portion of the player on the team, but the money-grubbing part of that man was not wanted (by me at least).
I never thought he was gonna be here, and I always said $ was the reason.

There are guys wanting to make some $, and then there are Money grubbing men....he fits in the latter with Fat Albert.

According to Schefter, here are the details of his contract. as per his twitter:

Julius Peppers' contract: 2010 -- $20m; 2011 -- $11.5m; 2012 -- $9m; 2013 -- $13m; 2014 -- $14m; 2015 -- $16.5m. First 3 yrs guaranteed.

I find it significant that the Bears are taking maximum advantage of the uncapped 2010 year to FRONTLOAD a big portion of the contract dollars - 20M in the first year. I've been saying all along that the uncapped year gives the Pats the chance to structure their contracts just like this, but I have yet to see the Pats leverage the advantage of the uncapped year in the contracts they've been handing out! Does anyone have the details of the Wilfork contract for instance?

Just saw that, pretty crazy numbers all around. I definitely wouldn't want the Pats on the hook for that on a 30 year old conversion project.

Up until about 2 minutes ago, had you seen anyone use it to their advantage?
