Patriots Player Departure Keion White traded

So, Cleveland could say 'We offered 30 first round picks' and it didn't matter because he was never getting traded to Cleveland.
Got it.
I didn't read the report, but BB has proven he is very very good at holding a grudge.
Wasn't the same owner, but would it surprise anyone if held a grudge against the Browns organization for firing him, so much so that he would do absolutely nothing to help them?
I have no dog in this fight, but BB has let personal feelings cloud his football judgement in the past.

you can choose to believe whomever suits your fancy

It is all BS. Amazed that you are swallowing the "widely reported" BS. Not like you.
I am BB likely number one fan but that man can cut his nose to spite his face. It will not shock me if true and it will not change how I feel about him. He is a very flawed individual but I love the man just the same. We all have our flaws.

What if I offered a shiny nickel to every thread that DOESN'T descend into arguments about Belichick?
He lives rent free in our heads.

Nobody has independently verified the claim that the Browns would have offered a first for Garoppolo. It was widely parroted because that’s what happens with provocative reports, but the single original source is one reporter in Cleveland.

??

This whole report counters what 49ers GM Lynch said openly. Garoppolo wasn't even on the market until Lynch called Belichick asking about Brady. Belichick laughed and said Brady was untouchable, but then Belichick called him back and asked if they had interest in Garoppolo. Then the deal was done.

That doesn't run counter to anything. How does Lynch know what Bill was doing or not doing when he wasn't on the phone with him?

Because he asked for Garoppolo several months before. They weren't shopping Garoppolo at all.

The 49ers conversations happened in late spring of the prior year (around the draft) and then again right after the season. Belichick said they weren't shopping Garoppolo at all to Lynch. And then a few months later, that conversation with Belichick happened and the deal was done.

If they were shopping him, you'd think they would have called the team that wanted him several months earlier.

I absolutely believe it, now more than ever. Why wouldn't other teams consider the possibility of acquiring Grop? That would be so totally like Bill to do that too.
No one has wanted Grop for years. Maybe you missed this. Players opening called Grop a ***** for being weak. Redirect Notice

So Breer had a nugget today.

I gotta be fair and consistent here. I'm always going to make fun of the Bill cult when they try to gaslight us that Bill didn't really draft Mac Jones, someone else did against Bill's wishes... but if this is true then in this case this is real collaboration and credit to Bill for being willing to listen. Bill wanted one guy, his team convinced Bill to take Gonzalez instead and Bill with final say as always came around on the idea and made the right choice.

If in fact this is true. Not sure where Breer heard this from and "I think" isn't exactly a news report.

I just listened to it.

He always likes to come off like he has inside sources.

It's always with a wink and a nod. Multiple times they asked him to state it unequivocally and he just evades.

There are a lot of beat writers out there who are tuned in. Reiss, Callahan, pre-2020 Curran (convinced he talked to Brady). But Breer is not one of the ones who ever convinced me. And on the football Xs and Os side, not as good as many others.

If you recall the story form after that draft, they actually reported BACK THEN that Belichick really wanted Emanuel Forbes but he was taken already.

Now the story changes.

If Breer knows or knew someone inside, I'm 99.9% sure it was one of the scouts, because Breer is the one who broke multiple stories in the years before that about Belichick and his relationship with the scouts.

Unless he meant by "scout" a guy much higher up in player personnel, but I do know that Breer always called his source a "scout."

That's because Breer often says something you don't like.

Lol not sure what it is you think Pioli, Reese, and Casserio did. Bill's always delegated well and allowed his guys to do their work and considered their input into everything that's why they were in the roles they were in to begin with.

I remember he was talked about here but I don't recall a report saying Bill wanted him. Surprised we didn't claim him after he was released.
