Kaperniick accuses adoptiive parents as Racialist.

The quotes from the article:

“I know my parents loved me, but there were still very problematic things that I went through,”.

“It was important to show that, no, this can happen in your own home, and how we move forward collectively while addressing the racism that is being perpetuated.”

It hardly says his parents were racist, it does however, acknowledge that no matter where a black person goes racist attitudes are perpetuated. I spent a career around black folks and always had to keep myself in check for many preconceived notions I was brought up with. No matter who you are there always seems to be ingrained attitudes about black folks. His comments are not all that controversial, except for those who want them to be.

FFS, hey Colin: every parent fights with their teenager about their hair.

Poor guy. He had to endure white privilege racism, which could include living in a large home in a gated community, subjected to enrolment in sports activities like football, forced to go to college, and vacations at Disney. How tragic.

I hate "The Spun" with a passion. All of their articles are some variation of "NFL World reacts to...". I'm not giving them an extra click, but I'm assuming they are blowing an innocent comment out of proportion like they always do.

Personally I would've blasted his Mom with this stuff years ago. She criticized him in the press over his protest stance. That tells me everything I need to know about her. He has been remarkably restrained until now.

Yes, he must've watched "Get Out" too many times.

He is a weirdo.

You would have blasted her for not liking his hair? F*** all parents everywhere I guess.

You're making a mountain out of molehill. Stories of racism with white parents are to be expected; he's not presenting them as bad people or calling them out. They are simply stories that happened to him.

What make you so sensitive that you freak out over things that actually happened?

AND--I was referring to his other mother, the one who criticizes him in tweets

@upstater1

Ahh my mistake, didn't realize it was the biological mother. And I'm not freaking out or making a mountain out of anything. All I've said about this is what I said to you under the assumption that you were blasting his adoptive mom over his hair.

What do I think? I think Kaeprnick, and most of society today, have an unhealthy obsession with race and searching for every hint of racism they can find. But I couldn't say that anything in that article demonstrates that Kaepernick doesn't love or appreciate his adoptive parents.

The thing is most of us have ever walked in a person of color's shoes. Sure there are people that always have their "everything is racist radar up". That's counter productive. Then the second they air their grievance there are people that always have their "there is no racism" radar up.....just as counter productive.
