Player Signing Justin Bethel re-signed - 3 years, $6m

This is some people's annual reminder that offseason moves don't happen in order of impact, especially when free agency hasn't started. "YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT WIDE RECEIVERRRRRRR!?!?!?!" completely misses the point that re-signing your own low-hanging fruit is always going to happen first because, as it turns out, they're the easiest contracts to bang out. You don't wait to sign a good player because you haven't signed a great one yet.

Useless signing, hardly worth a thread. Right up there with 'Staler belongs in the hall of fame.' The real one.

By the way, Tampa Bay had among the worst special teams in the NFL this season. Didn't matter.

Justin bethel extended...

This is what happens in the last week before free agency starts. Belichick re-signs/extends some of our own.

I would expect a couple of more, hopefully including Folk.

The Pats end up spending to the Cap and never land any elite offensive talent with that $$$. Where does the money go? Oh OK. On deals like this. Brady never had a chance in New England in 2019. He had ZERO weapons. Can BB the GM finally build a proper team for BB the coach without the crutch of a GOAT QB taking less than market value? Let's see it BB!

Yup, it's deal like this that made sure that we lost over the past 20 years. NOT

Bethel was low key one of the best moves we've made in a long time. For now, we have an utter embarrassment of riches at ST, but now we know who's going to take over the Slater role long term. I suppose King could also be in that discussion.
Brandon the King (of STs Penalties) feckin Sucks.

A good special teamer. I'm still looking for them to sign a good wide receiver and
a good tight end...
...And a good QB...and a good DT...and a good DE...and a good LB...

This is great news. One of the articles said that slater was coming back as well next season. Which is also fantastic!

WOW. The claim that Brady had ZERO weapons in 2019 is laughable. Especially since they signed Antonio Brown who promptly shot his way out of NE.

Gotta love how you ignore the fact that the reason we "never had a chance" in 2019 had more to do with the injuries on the O-line than whatever weapons the Pats had.

Don't forget that in 2019, Gronkowski also screwed the Pats over by waiting until AFTER Cook signed with New Orleans before announcing he was "retiring".

Seriously.. Could you be any more revisionist?

Slater was still under contract so why would you think he wasn't coming back?

ROFL. Do you even READ what you post before hitting submit?

1 Game of Antonio Brown does not COUNT as having a weapon.

7 Games of a subsequently suspended Josh Gordon doesn't Count as having a weapon.

12 catches and 105 yards from 1st round pick N'Keal "Bust" Harry don't count as having a weapon.

13 catches for 131 yards from Matt Lacosse "leading" the WORST TE group in the League does NOT count as having a weapon.

The Patriots offense was toothless and Brady did the best he could with the worst offensive group in the league.

A lot of the BB defenders shouted from the rooftops - See!! BB was right, Brady is washed up! His numbers are down. BB was right to show Tommy the door!

A year later we find out that, NAH, Brady wasn't cooked. He just didn't have the weapons in New England!

Give him the tools, and Brady will go to WORK and win you a Superbowl. Brand new team, Brand new conference, Brand new offensive system and he still won it ALL!

Tampa Bay Tom 1 Championship - Belichick without Brady 0. Time to get to work Bill! You're playing CATCH UP!
