Tell me the last time a the team who scored the fewer amount of points, but allowed more yards lose the game. The Pats have shaved a few points off their PPG allowed average since the first month of the year. They have improved on third down efficiency. They have improved exponentially on QB pressures and sacks. They are improving on opposing QB rating. They have given up far fewer plays of 20 plus yards.
Yes, if you ignore everything else including actually watching the games, the Pats aren't improving. Check that. Even though the Pats remain in last place in that ONE category, their average yards allowed has gone down exponentially. In the first four games, the Pats gave up 1,910 yards (477.5 YPG). In the last four games, the Pats have allowed 1420 yards (355 YPG). That is 25.7% decrease in yards allowed and 122.5 YPG decrease. That is a significant improvement.
The had the Jets go three and out seven times. They held the sixth ranked offense last week scoreless and allowed them to go into Patriots territory once in the first half last week (and that was a 6 yard, three and out drive that started on the Giants' 49 yard line). That is improvement right there.
But hey, let's not let the facts get in the way for you Jets fan (FYI to other posters, Hitman Harris is a Jets fan who posts on JI if you couldn't tell from his screen name).
