Just read the game thread

I mean, I had gone through all the stages of grief by the end of the halftime show, and my posting in the GD thread was a coping mechanism. I just laughed when Gostkowski plinked the field goal off the upright, because of course he did at that point.

Still can't believe they did what they did.

I wasn't in there at all during the game but I've been reading it and it's hilarious how most of the people that were killing the team have been real quiet since Sunday. Just shows why they are on this forum.

Just went back and read the game thread as well. I didn't follow it during the game.

After reading that I can't imagine how devastating it would have been to have been one of those who declared the Pats "done" then turn off the game only to come back to read the the outpouring of joy and disbelief of watching the greatest comeback in the NFL and perhaps in all of sports. By the greatest quarterback to ever play the game.

Trying to put myself in their position I think I would have rather seen the Pats lose rather than to come to grips with the reality that you just robbed yourself of one of, if not the greatest, sports experiences we may ever witness. And you gave up on them when they didn't give up on themselves.

I can't comprehend turning off the game even when they were down as big as they were. As slim as it may seem there was always a chance. To not finish this last game, after watching the entire year and cheering this team on, no matter what result you think the game will end on, is just unfathomable to me.

I started watching the game at the Cask in Fenway. When the Falcons made it 21-0, I closed my tab and went to finish the game at home. 60% of that is because the Patriots were down 21-0. The other 40% is because the entire crowd at the bar made my experience ****ing blow, I guess I should have expected it. Here we are down 21-0, key 3rd down coming up before the half, and everyone there was just laughing and tongue banging each others' mouths and cheering for the camera with their backs to the TV. Decked out from head to toe in Pats gear but couldn't give a **** less about the game. Maybe I'm getting old. That **** put me in a bad mood.

You know what's great? I can watch the replay of the game, and even during first 3 quarters be happy now and not feel like my blood pressure is rising. lol Talk about a roller coaster of emotions, I'm so glad I didn't give up and turn the game off, watched to the very end with my heart feeling like it was going to come out of my chest. lol
I rewatched it and it still stressed me the hell out

I hate to say it, but it's over. The only chance they had was stopping ATL after the half and setting the comeback tone with a TD.

Pats outmatched, outplayed, out-everything. Hats off to ATL. I will watch the rest of the game, but I have little to no hope. Great year, but they **** the bed tonight.

This was my "its over" post from the GD thread...

I know I know, not my finest hour, but at the time I obviously was not feeling good about our chances... so so glad I was wrong, and a lesson learned for me.

Normally I would always have hope, but at the moment, with the way they looked... there was none. I'm sorry. I'll own it.

Thats exactly why I don't go to super bowl parties anymore when the Pats are in it.. I've been to some where people there don't give a **** about the game and just want to party, play cards, etc...

You need to be around like minded individuals for a game like this
