JULIAN EDELMAN

He didn’t touch the ball on the punt so quit beating yourselves up about that. Only miscue was the ripped pass int, but do you realize we gave up three int, lost the turnover battles, on losing end of the refs flags, and we still won the game. That’s tough to do, Edelman is tough, this team is tough.
Actually, only two INTs. The third one was called back due to an offsides penalty.

His head was nearly decapitated in this game. When he shaves, he will go back to the Jules you know. Plus faces change in the cold. Plus he is growing old.

That sequence right after the turnover is secretly one of the biggest breaks we got in the game. The way the Chiefs player jump right into his helmet screamed absolutely concussion to me. It was ****ing brutal. He also stayed on the floor for like a beat or two but then got up without any problems.

Not many people noticed that on the replay and it won't get too much talk but if we lose possession and Edelman right there. The rest of the game plays out differently.

Imo, hes looked better or as good the last 2 games than he ever has. Great sign that hes fully back from the acl. He probably has 2 great seasons left.

Two INTs but that fourth & 1 is essentially also a turnover. Not trying to be a stickler here, it just goes to the overall point that we somehow pulled out a win despite going 0:3 in the turnover differential.

I get your point, although I was responding to someone who had claimed that we lost 3 INTs.

It’s remarkable that they were able to overcome those miscues. They played well for 4/5 quarters. That fourth quarter was terrible, though. Giving up a whole game’s worth of points (24) is inexcusable, but we’ll save that discussion for a different day. I’m still glowing about the victory at the moment.

Part of me wants to see him tar and feathered for being anywhere near that punt, and giving up the second interception

The other part wants to buy one of the finest football players the game has ever known a beer or six. Brady to Edelman is the the clutchest combination in football history.

So true.
In a way, he makes me even more upset Welker couldn’t hang on to that ball.
It’s not fair to call Wes “Wally Pipp”...but BB’s comments foreshadowed the greatness of JE11.

I have no idea how he got up or went to the right sideline. He is a boss.

Yeah, I guess. I mean they played absolutely amazing in the first half on defense. And our offense squandered the opportunity to go up by more than 14. The same thing happened in the third quarter where they shut KC down except for that quick strike TD. And even that required magical throws from Mahomes. Then the defense made them punt deep in their own half and the offense was setup in KC territory and was not able to get more than 9 yards and a FG out of it.

But going with 7 points allowed into the fourth quarter in KC was still an A+ effort. Then the final quarter they collapsed. The short field on the INT didn't help and was exactly what KC needed to keep the time on their side. If we had been able to take 2-3 minutes off the clock with a drive that could have even gone nowhere we have the clock on our side for the rest of the game.

The one drive that really was inexcusable was the FG drive at the very end. But you are kinda in a bit of a bind. You are facing a highly explosive offense so you are playing automatically more conservativelyto not get burned for a quick TD and (with only one TO on their side) are giving them the MOF. Of course you should still be able to defend it well enough to not let them get into range.

In the end the point totals pretty much played out exactly as I was anticipating (see some threads from last week: around 28 given up, needing 34+ for a win). I just didn't think we would **** the bed on offense with 3 turnovers before it turned into a masterpiece for Q4 and OT.

There really were not too many narratives that held through the entire game. Brady started slow, threw that bone headed pick and then flipped the switch to an entire different level in crunch time. Edelman almost threw the game away with an absurdly stupid decision on the punt and then the tipped ball but then overcame that and became a monster. Gronk tipped a ball into a game losing INT only to get bailed out by a flag and then on the very next snap caught that pass over Berry. The same thing can be said about the defense but almost in reverse. Where many players had hero plays in the first 3 quarters but then were struggling towards the end.

It literally was a triumph of will, dedication and preparation. Now we can dissect individual plays but maybe this time we should keep the big picture in mind when we do it.

You are one tough SOB

Belichick always says the pass rush fatigues late - it did for us.

He plays WR like a TE. He’s like a real honey badger.

TB12-JE11 the ultimate bromance at 4:31. I actually teared up at that.

Edelman might be the most clutch pats WR. Watching him on those last 2 drives. taking hits while holding onto the ball. Reminds me of Seattle and Atlanta superbowls.

Brady - Edelman is unstoppable in a game where they are tied/losing.

What is wrong with his face? This was after the game. He is getting old and not the baby face some genders fell in love with.

I'm still in complete awe how he continues to hold onto those balls after taking hit after hit, sometimes multiple hits before he goes down.

I remember the Seahawks SB, he made that nice catch over the middle, and kept going. Although he was down and probably concussed, the SOB still had that indomitable will to keep moving forward. He took a multitude of nasty hits last night without lketting the ball go.

Damn Edelman.

Edelman is a monster, like Brady in many ways... underestimated... tough as nails... can't outwork him... never gives up...

...and he can overcome his own mistakes.
