Yup. Can we safely assume he shot his way out of town? What to stop other plays from doing the same?
I think it’s more players were getting tired of Uche playing off script,
The run D has been improved since Uche has been out of the lineup.
Now of course he will play with more juice and they will Just let him chase the Qb in passing situations in KC.

This season is about building for the future. Players who aren't in should be out, especially older veterans who are not helping on the field. Don't trade players who contribute on the field and in the locker room. Long term, figure out the core and build from there.

The 2007 Patriots barely got by a mediocre Eagles and Raiders team. There's going to be games where you need some luck.
The difference though is, the 2007 Patriots were blowing out teams to their left and right, which the Chiefs aren't doing. That inevitably exposes them to more chances of dropping in a loss somewhere. Through the first 7 games of 2007, the closest score of the Patriots was a 17 point win over the Browns. The Chiefs' biggest win this season came by 13 points against the Saints. The Chiefs right now are more like the 2009 Colts that went 14-0 before giving up on the perfect season (and then getting beat in the Super Bowl) who during the first 7 weeks of the season squeaked by the Jaguars 14-12, the Dolphins 27-23 and the 49ers 18-14.

Why is helping or not helping the Chiefs a part of the calculus? I could care less about who wins if it isn't us unless it causes pain for Jete fans (if any still exist). I'm on Team Tank so while I would prefer seeing some progress out of young guys and only winning against the Jete, what KC does is irrelevant to me. Is this some sort of a fear of someone else having a dynasty like ours? Not a snowball's chance in hell from my point of view, so why bother?

Basically we borderline released him but either way there was no real point in keeping him. He signed a "prove it" deal and wasn't proving it. You can only wait for a guy to realize his potential for so long before you need to cut bait. Would it surprise me if he turns into a 8-10 sack a year guy? No. Uche is now on one of the NFL's elite teams with a good defense and one of the best defensive players in the league will likely allow for him to be a situational pass rusher on a team that is generally ahead on the scoreboard and knows the opponent will be passing. On a rebuilding team severely lacking talent he was always going to be asked to do more than he was capable of and he has shown over and over again he isn't well rounded enough to be an every down player. We could have let him walk for nothing at the end of the year or traded him for next to nothing.
Exactly. Not a fit here anymore.

They didn't play the Raiders in 2007. I think you meant Ravens instead of "Raiders".

He was a fit and of course he isn’t in 2024. But he could have been in coming seasons.

Honestly would have rather just cut him than help the Chiefs. 2026 6th is useless given that most talent evaluators have admitted NIL has created a scenario where only about 4-5 rds of players are really draftable.

Wolfe seems leas than competent

Belichick is the one who used a 2nd round pick on him. I have no problem giving him credit for good picks, like Gonzalez and White, but he also has the blame for bad picks, which Uche unfortunately was. And I also realize that Wolf re-signed him, but it was on the cheap for a team lacking in talent, and preparing to trade their best pass rusher.

I'd be satisfied with a situational pass rusher in the second round if we could give back a WR who can't catch and whose only contributions are penalties in Jaylen Polk. That guy stinks to high heaven.

Uche wasn’t a bad pick, until he started trying to play outside his role when he found himself on a bad team going nowhere with coaches unable to rein him in.

Uche didn’t do much of anything his entire time here, that’s why they got him back as cheap as they did. Good young pass rushers get big money if they hit free agency, and nobody wanted him.

I watched him lining up next to Chris Jones, but was still pretty ineffective.

Only if he could somehow grow 3” and gain 30 lbs…

He was a Bad pick too.

"Preparing to trade"

That's a very generous way to describe that situation.

I'm sure plenty of people look at as protection for our dynasty but just look at it even simpler. They are the best team so helping them get better only widens the gap for us to become the best (I know dreamland but it's the goal).

I'll admit it initially pissed me off in a defend the wall type way so I agree that probably shouldn't have been part of the calculus.

Wozzy you're tough.
