Schefter said he ditched his round the clock security team to go do drugs. Pathetic.
Sources: Patriots had security plan for Gordon

I hope the kid gets the help he needs.
That said, his career in the NFL is probably over.
If you can’t make it in New England, with all the advantages in the world and added security trying to steer you in the right direction, you’re not going to make it anywhere.
He probably didn't ditch security to feed homeless children.
Here's a few of the posts. I know there are more but I didn't want to go through the other half of the thread.
That one is actually a double quit followed by a confirmation...
So please, tell me how I'm wrong and that isn't quitting on the team. It looks like the definition of the word.
I'd say the very minimal investment paid off a touch more than equitably. You are severely overestimating the "draft capital" involved. 50 (or so) draft slots at the bottom of the draft where it's a crap shoot anyway is not much to cough up for 720 yds. Not to mention the games that might not have been won without him, he tasked defenses (particularly the Bears) in ways that disrupted their game plans. His presence alone drove Indy's D to distraction and opened things up for White and Gronk.
So, in your mind, Gordon getting a locker next to Brady is somehow an "extra" expenditure of attention and resources that cost the team something that it wouldn't have with a "normal guy"?
You're claiming that no other WR ("normal guy") joining the Pats after the season had already started would have gotten the locker next to Brady, so that he and Brady would have more opportunities to talk and to get on the same page quicker? To you, it's not even a possibility that someone like Tate or Thomas would have needed or benefited from that (not to mention the Pats offense)?
You'd rather that the team focus on "dependable guys", regardless of talent? Like Gronk?
Serious question ... how old are you?
Lol okay he ditched them to go play hopscotch with his friends. Not true. Schefter said that Gordon ditched his security at some point during the bye week. Said nothing about doing drugs in that article.
One thing of interest from that article is that according to the league substance abuse policy, if it was a positive test, Gordon would have been banned , though he could apply for reinstatement if clean..
Imho, there is a difference between suspended indefinitely and being banned. Curious as to which it actually is..
Lol okay he ditched them to go play hopscotch with his friends.
Okay I worded it incorrectly. I falsely assumed that this board could put 2 and 2 together.Gotta love you changing the narrative. You claimed that Schefter said that Gordon ditched the security to do drugs. Schefter didn't say that at all. So, just suck it up and admit you're wrong.
Okay I worded it incorrectly. I falsely assumed that this board could put 2 and 2 together.
Reading comprehension. Try it.Yep. Keep making excuses for being wrong and not owning up to your mistake..
The league has not said that he failed a drug test. In fact, it's only Rappaport and Schefter just now reporting about Gordon ditching security.
The failed drug test has been pure speculation..
Just to be clear the OP referred to the whole roster being a mistake. I don't think BB would ever refer to one of his teams rosters which got a winning record as a mistake. Every roster every year even the winning years would have some mistakes but all I was arguing was the notion the whole roster is a mistake.Don't mean to pile on,man, but in this case I think it's you that's out of touch.
You are actually insulting BB.
You don't think arguably the GOAT coach is capable of self-critical thinking?
That is one of the primary traits of anyone who's successful- the ability to recognize your own mistakes and take appropriate action.
Ive never met TB or BB but I can guarantee you that both are tougher on themselves than anybody else is on them.
BB miscalculated the wr position. It sounded well-stacked, but virtually all the newcomers plus the key guys(je,Gronk) were coming off injuries.
Yes,there was an element of bad luck in pretty much every wr being unable to play. You don't think BB came to the same conclusion? Why in the hell did he trade for Gordon then?
Yes, no one knew Wynn would miss the entire year.
But he flat-out messed up with the front 7, especially the dl. Yes,again there was bad luck with Bentley's injury.
But the dts have been mediocre-bad.
I don't know what happened to Malcolm brown. We all know how bad Shelton has sucked. Guy has played well but he's a rotational guy. If he's your best dt,you're in trouble.
Flowers is a stud.
High has been a great player but I think BB miscalculated on how effective he'd be coming back. He may still get better, but the Pats needed more.
All of the above is stuff BB knew before all of us, but at that point the season was underway and wasn't much he could do about it.
Watch this season how big a priority the front 7 is.
Funny how you put some beef in there how the run D improves.Let's try this again, since you seem to be letting your homerism kick into overdrive in this thread:
If Belichick thought he was the solution to the run game problems, he wouldn't be a healthy scratch. He has 10 solo tackles all season, and a total of 19 combined tackles in 12 games. He was inactive against the Dolphins, which is a team that runs the football with some success (#5 in y/a).
Now, should we all hope that he gets his ass in gear and starts being something better than a toppled traffic cone out there? Absolutely. But until he does that, let's stop with the nonsense about him stopping the running game woes, since he's not been doing that for most of the year.
"Danny Shelton! This team is as likely to win the Super Bowl as any team in the past decade!" (Paraphrased). I mean, come on. Are you even thinking for a split second before posting that sort of silliness?
Sure, but I don’t think they’re going to be able to play that scheme against teams not named the Bills or Jets. Anyone who is an actual threat to pass would eat us up in the secondary.Funny how you put some beef in there how the run D improves.
I did read that he failed the NFL drug test when he was suspended by the NFL.
And now we are back to my original point that part of why we sucked vs the run is we commit more to the pass by philosophy.Sure, but I don’t think they’re going to be able to play that scheme against teams not named the Bills or Jets. Anyone who is an actual threat to pass would eat us up in the secondary.
Addicts can be absolute geniuses to get their fix. Doesn’t mean the guy doesn’t need help.Gordon was clever enough to slip a Bill Belichick devised security plan, but let's all pray for his mental health
Hilarious.
