Talk radio I heard yesterday was all..Yes it is headed by Colin Coward.
Not "knowing" is really scary sh it.
Yeah, PJ, how TF did that happen???I can’t believe this thread went off the rails.
Clearly he hasn't lived up to potential but it didn't get better without him. I think he'll likely be active again when the opposition's run game warrants it. This week perhaps. If Belichick thought Shelton was the solution to the running defense's woes, Shelton would not be a healthy scratch.
Wow, that is a monumental first post. Well done.Man. What a terrible place for my first post. Die-hard Browns fan, long time Pats fan as well. No bandwagon bs, lost a close friend in the late 80s who was a rabid Pats fan, have rooted for your team ever since. Loving BB and watching the career of the GOAT has made it a lot easier (and a lot of my "so-called" friends hate me even more).
First things first, damn people, I have no idea how you can be cashing in your chips before the playoffs even begin. You have TOM BRADY. I could swear I've watched this guy pick receivers off the street and make them pro bowlers. It might not look pretty on paper right now... but on a cold day in January, when Mahomes looks across the field at the Man, the Myth, all bets are off. This guy can do the "un-do-able" and has a coach by his side that's cast from the same mold. Shake it off guys!
Josh Gordon. Wow, I just shake my head. What a wasted career. Do I feel bad for him? I guess, a little... but how bad can you really feel? I feel bad for the 9 to 5er that struggles to make ends meet and can't walk away from addiction. No resources, no bright, shiny future. Just a pile of muck and no way out. I felt bad for a kid I treated like a son who was, by all accounts, days from death with a heroin addiction. He's five years clean with a beautiful family, a budding career and serves as an inspiration to all around him. Josh has had every opportunity, all the resources in the world, and everything to look forward to. He's failed, miserably. What to do besides shake your head in disbelief?
That said, anyone that thinks poor Josh is the poster-child for unfair rules and is just getting picked on for "smokin' a little weed" - you must be out of your mind. Josh is a drug addict. He's been drinking "purple drank" since high school. OPIATES. It's no walk in the park and takes a strong individual to walk away from, but people do it everyday.
Remember DeMar DeRozan and K Love and their "courageous" coming out party when talking about depression and mental illness? Josh and his agent said "bingo!" He pulled that at the beginning of training camp and tried it again this week. I don't want to sound heartless, but let's be honest... doesn't everyone drug addict, by definition, also have a mental health issue? If you come out and talk about it you're a hero and deserve sympathy, plain and simple. If I was a betting man (I am), I would bet that Josh burnt a test or didn't show for one right before camp, hid behind his "illness", and ran off to never-never-land to see what "the Rog" would do about it. Roger gave him his last-last chance and Josh laughed and continued doing what he does.
I watched the Browns organization prop this dude up while he kept up his shenanigans for six years. Six years of unwavering support from organization and players, six years of support from fans. Six years of lies... second hand smoke, didn't know he couldn't drink cough syrup with codeine, didn't know he couldn't get smashed on the team plane after the last game because he thought he could drink "now that the season is over".
Raw deal? Yes, b*llshit tartar served on a silver platter... by Josh, for Josh. It's a shame but it is what it is. Some people just can't walk away, and certainly can't see the forest through the trees.
Keep your heads up, Pats fans, just another bump in the road. The rest of the league is just a little more scared now than they were a few days ago. The last thing you want to do to BB and the GOAT is tell them they "can't".
Clearly he hasn't lived up to potential but it didn't get better without him. I think he'll likely be active again when the opposition's run game warrants it. This week perhaps.
We'll see. I'm not talking huge differences we were a little better against the run when he dressed than the last few weeks without him. Not being dressed for a week or two here or there with BB when your a one dementional player does not mean you won't dress again and that you can't contribute again.Let's try this again, since you seem to be letting your homerism kick into overdrive in this thread:
If Belichick thought he was the solution to the run game problems, he wouldn't be a healthy scratch. He has 10 solo tackles all season, and a total of 19 combined tackles in 12 games. He was inactive against the Dolphins, which is a team that runs the football with some success (#5 in y/a).
Now, should we all hope that he gets his ass in gear and starts being something better than a toppled traffic cone out there? Absolutely. But until he does that, let's stop with the nonsense about him stopping the running game woes, since he's not been doing that for most of the year.
"Danny Shelton! This team is as likely to win the Super Bowl as any team in the past decade!" (Paraphrased). I mean, come on. Are you even thinking for a split second before posting that sort of silliness?
Somebody needs to suspend his keyboard privileges indefinitely.Look at you, addicted to the post. You even replied to the guy you have on ignore just to tell him you have him on ignore, which is really sad when you think about it. You can't get enough of it Andy. It's a sickness man. I feel bad for you, but we all got our demons. You gotta get help. Step away from the game.

Because hes a great football player when on the straight and narrow. Only costs a 5th round pick and he delivered up until this week.I’m disappointed with the patriots. I’m not an expert on addiction. But I had some time to reflect on the Josh Gordon situation. The resources the Patriots have why did they put this this guy through the rigors and stress of football. Josh had no business playing. I pray that Josh can find peace and recovery. This falls on the Patriots. We should have had offensive weapons to support Brady instead of relying on a man who has a disease.
I have no issue with the decision to bring Gordon on board. They wouldn’t allow the deal to be completed until CLE added in the 7th rounder in return, so aside from the obvious loss in production on the field, the hit really isn’t that bad. They swapped a 5th for a 7th in order to get to this point, so it’s up to them to try and move forward with what is left.Because hes a great football player when on the straight and narrow. Is anyone surprised that guys like Hamilton or Valentine (remembering how the majority watched his every move in anticipation of last year’s IR return) aren’t getting shots on the active roster?
Is Valentine even on the PS these days?
How about signing a street veteran? Is there really no one out there that could contribute to such an obvious area of weakness?
It’s a shame that this wasn’t addressed earlier in the season, and as much as I like giving the goat HC the benefit of the doubt, it still seems baffling to me.
Edit : forgot about Kamalu.
