@MikeReiss: Patriots president Jonathan Kraft departs NFL meeting and politely declines comment. Essentially says Robert Kraft's words reflect his own.

@tomecurran: In speaking with Jonathan Kraft yesterday for several minutes, 2 things clear. Futility of fighting. Sense that they still got jobbed.

We really need to raise 3 billion dollars so BB can buy this team. :D

Bummer. I was holding out some hope that when Bob finishes going senile at some point in the next few years, his son might prove to have a backbone. I'll still hold out hope, since to be fair I'm not sure what he could reasonably say here.

I'm not willing to throw JK under the bus just yet. For all we know he argued with his spineless father over this until the very end and lost. Holley said yesterday that JK was probably somewhere in the back of the room "kicking the wall" as his father was talking. Time will tell on JK.

wonder what lord belichick thinks about these spineless jellyfishes.

probably hates that his bosses are cowards who will rollover at any time.

If they believe they got jobbed, why would they capitulate even if they felt fighting back would be futile? At least they'd have their dignity (which I understand is apparently worth much less than the almighty dollar). Even more baffling, why would they kinda sorta fight back before retreating? The yellow stripe down Kraft's back is going to be awful hard to wash off.

~jobbed
To be the victim of a conspiracy; to lose a seemingly fair contest because of deceit; to be guaranteed to lose. The term derives from the professional wrestling term "jobber".

Ex.
Brett Hart was jobbed in the infamous Montreal Screwjob.
The Seahawks got jobbed in Super Bowl XL.

IDK, I still think if Jonathan was calling the shots, they would fight this a lot harder. But now that his father has made the decision to bend over and take it from the league, there is no way Jonathan will disrespect his father and go rogue from him and start spouting his mouth off.

Bob's still the leader. Jonathan might be screaming "I'm gonna burn this mutha down!" on the inside.

Since when was the objective about winning? What a cop-out. Did they really believe during these last few months that they would defeat the NFL when there is basically no precedent for it? It wasn't about winning; to quote the words of Tom Brady's Super Bowl promo via Billy Bob Thorton:

Being perfect is not about that scoreboard out there. It's not about winning. It's about you and your relationship with yourself, your family and your friends. Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn't let them down because you told them the truth. And that truth is you did everything you could. There wasn't one more thing you could've done. Can you live in that moment as best you can, with clear eyes, and love in your heart, with joy in your heart? If you can do that gentleman - you're perfect!

Tom used those words in a legendary SB performance. I see that Bob and Bob Jr. are not perfect.

The Gimlet Drinking Surrender Monkey and his Trust Fund Spawn sit overlooking their kingdom on booster seat thrones....they are one in the same.
"Surrender, Capitulate, then on to the bank" .........the "32" will forever be

BB owning the team then Rog does this to him/Brady/his team/us? Damn, that is the dream scenario....

The Emperor has laid down the law with all owners and the subordinates. STFU about the Patriots and this matter. Kraft bowed to me and the rest of you will too. Anyone who speaks publicly in a negative way I will 'be seeing you standing tall before the man' for some reason very soon.

Just a word to Jonathan. Watch out for your father's escort or you and your brothers could wind up like Steven Rosenbloom out of luck.

when Bob finishes going senile at some point in the next few years

I watched his presser from SF and I think he's already gone senile. He came across as a frail old man who is in over his head. It was pitiful to watch. If he were Old Yeller...

Just like his father. Spineless.

Robert Kraft just took a dump all over the Patriots legacy. Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining, Bob!

And what the hell can J. Kraft add onto that after the damage has already been done? I have no idea if he feels exactly the same way as his dad or if he was completely against it, but I just don't see a way to do MORE damage to the franchise brand, than Rollover Bob just did! No comment is probably the least damaging statement he can make at that point. If he says publicly to the media, my dad is an asshat, he would just get disinherited with no chance of changing things if/when he gets to take charge of the franchise.

True.

But he also grew up around the Navy, so he understands the chain of command, deplorable or otherwise.

Too much hugging between Bob and Goodell. Bob needs to see an endocrinologist for testosterone replacement therapy.
