John Madden: "Tom Brady is Playing Better Than Joe Montana Ever Did"

He must be part Irish with the luck he is having

I love Madden, I still think of him as the voice of the NFL. I remember back on opening day in 2002 against the steelers he said brady reminded him of a young montana. I will watch a game i do not care about just to hear madden talk about it.

did you notice the look she gave Brady when he finished his part? Looked like a schoolgirl with a major crush on the teacher ...

Yes! I noticed that too. She looked smitten!!

Re: John Madden: 'Tom Brady is Playing Better Than Joe Montana Ever Did'

madden has a habit of hypebole. if he covers a Green bay game next week he will say the same about favre. just watching frank caliendo impersonate madden is hilarious

Yeah, but tonight was the first time he really meant it!!

Guess I'll put this here since it shouldn't really have an entire new thread, but in the postgame interview on the field Randy Moss said, 'It's like a dream', 'I'm so happy', 'I'm a New England Patriot, what more can you ask for?'.

CAMELOT.

I'm pissed off I missed him saying that. Thanks for posting it! It makes me feel proud to have him on our team. What a great compliment that is!

Andrea Kramer had a HUGE crush on Brady his entire interview, but he was very serious and stone cold.

Brady is dating Gisele, a Victoria's Secret supermodel.

That's a riot! So Tom was covering his a** in case Gisele was watching? BEAUTIFUL!

Yeah, something tells me that he won't be leaving Gisele for Kramer anytime soon. One thing I want to know is why the hell is Brady so damn lucky? Hes the star quarterback of the only undefeated team in the NFL, on pace to have the best season ever by an NFL quarterback(hell,he plays better than I do when I play Madden on "rookie" mode lol.) and hes banging the hottest women on earth, simply put, he is living every mans dream. Not to mention hes pretty rich too.

I try to imagine dispite all he has, that he's still depressed! That's the only way I can keep from getting depressed when I look at my....ah hell, where's my zoloft?

I saw that too. It made me feel great because I like Randy and am glad that he is finding professional happiness. It's just a terrific bonus that he's helping the Pats win at the same time.

No matter what you do for a living, finding a job you love with colleagues you like and respect is a rare blessing.

Anyone who does NOT think that Brady is just as good, if not better, than Montana ever was is simply kidding themselves. Brady is like a friggen surgeon on the field. Never gets rattled, checks down his receivers with clamness, slides around the pocket with ease, hits receivers in stride, etc... The guy is the GOAT and it's obvious to anyone who has a clue.

yeah..i saw that...it was weird how she was looking at brady

I saw that too and kinda giggled. We're not the only ones who noticed either. The folks at CHFF put in a little blurb about it in their latest Brady Ball Washing article (deserved I might add).

"A few minutes before Andrea Kremer blew Tom Brady with her eyes in the postgame interview, NBC analyst John Madden did the same with his words."

:singing:

Its funny, but I remember Madden saying something along the lines of "he(Brady) is playing the QB position better than any other player I've ever seen". He also did make the comment about Brady/Montana, but I was impressed more by the comment on the QB position, as it seemed more encompassing. I remember remarking on it to my husband, when toward the end of the game, Madden repeated it for the 3RD TIME!!! Does anyone else remember this?

He said Brady was playing better than Montana ever did, as well as any other QB ever, like half a dozen times over about a 10 minute span. It was pretty funny.

I think Madden was taking a few nips of brandy to keep himself warm last night.

Seriously, I would be freaking out if I got my girlfriend pregnant, but I would be proud as hell if I got a supermodel pregnant like he did. I'd be proud just to say "yep, it was me"

I have been freezing my ass off up here in Washington. Winter hits pretty hard here and some Brandy doesn't sound to bad to me right now maybe some hot buttered rum. mmmmmmmmm

Let's get it right. He made a point to emphasize that he was comparing Tom's play "right now" to anything he's seen before. Obviously he hedged his bet there, and obviously Tom has to prove to be consistent and resilient over time to rate being compared one-to-one with the likes of Montana.

But right now he's doing things nobody has ever done. Which is good enough for me. How about you?

I like Madden. He calls it as it is. Its obvious that Brady is having the best season ever for ANY NFL player by a long shot. Everyone who tries to ignore it or take away from it are just haters. Kudos to Madden.
