John Dowd - Why Deflategate Matters

Because the article is not real.

I am just wondering if you can elaborate on why you feel that way?

What about it doesn't appear to be "real?" Is this person or platform known for putting out fake content or something?

The website is profootballmock.com. It's a satire site.

Hmmm. After looking at the thread its possible!

Yeah, I'm confused here (which is nothing new).

The article seems fine to me, and I'm guessing someone else would've caught it if it were fake.

Yea the name of the web site and sleeping with the gardner tipped me off.

Great piece by Dowd.

"When sports authorities don’t enforce their own rules with transparency and fairness, the integrity of the game is equally compromised. What’s happening today with the NFL undermines the concepts of integrity and fairness in the application of the rules and threatens to damage football’s credibility for years to come."

This was the lead in on ESPN SportsCenter last night...

It's not unreasonable to speculate that Judge Berman, based on his questions and comments in open Court, has drawn similar conclusions on the underlying facts of Brady's supposed "crime." Now, all we can do is hope that the Judge has also concluded that Kessler's arguments give him enough Legal air cover to vacate Goodell's ruling as "Arbiter."

Well, he has been married to Jane Skinner since 1997. To be married that long you do need to admit your are wrong and apologize every once and a while..

When will she admit she was wrong, is the question.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Really? No accounting for taste, I guess.

I just don't see it. Am I missing something? Are there pictures of her out there when she was younger with hair that went past her shoulders?

She's remarkably ordinary looking. Is there anything about Goodell that doesn't scream "mediocrity"?

Like it or not (I don't) there is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 to 40 million reasons annually that scream above and beyond mediocrity.

Nonsense.

Lumps bubble up to the top of the CessPool all the time.

How many Bosses have you had that you admired?

How many Congressmen, for that matter...or Presidents?

Obama and Bush ~ just to make sure I offend everybody ~ are only mediocre on their best days.

Many extraordinary people have acquired Wealth and Consequence, yes.

But most Nuggets acquire Rank by kissing ass, stabbing backs, being related to or friends with someone in Power, and/or keeping their Pie Holes shut. You think Goodel Got Paid because he's outstanding??

01 ~ Wealth alone does not translate into Excellence.
02 ~ Nor is Excellence the usual Path to Wealth.
