Yes, this plus the fact that the Jests/Jetes win in a meaningless end-of-season game with the immortal Trevor Siemian at QB gave us the draft position we needed to take Drake Maye adds to their misery. Congrats to Bob Saleh and Jete fans everywhere for the win!

"Look, every good team—even the best ones—go through bad years. If you stick to a simple, obvious process of drafting real talent and hiring a solid coaching staff, eventually you'll get better. Sometimes you even get great again.

We've seen literally every other team in the NFL do this and achieve at least some level of success. But here? We just keep sinking deeper and deeper into suckage nobody thought was possible.

Im' rooting for Seattle in the SB this year—obviously because I don't want to see the Patriots win again. But then I started thinking about them. The Patriots today don't have Belichick or Brady anymore. Sure, Vrabel is there now, but I never hated him—he was just a cog in the machine back when he played.

Then it hit me: How did the Patriots manage to hire Mayo, give him a shot as head coach, fire him when it clearly wasn't working, and then bring in a veteran coach to pair with a young QB? The whole process just feels... smart. I don't even care if they win. What I really want is for Sam Darnold to win, because he never got a fair shake here. Maybe it would wake up Woody or maybe the fans.

Seattle—and every other team in the league—eventually at least tries to get good. Here at 1 Jets Drive, we basically spend every year finding new ways to get worse. Last year was the worst: We tank the season before it even starts by singing praises and then handing the keys to a QB who literally can't throw. And instead of firing the obviously terrible head coach, we double down—he's now calling defensive plays and handing offensive play-calling to some unnamed new OC.

Because why keep the one good coach we had? The last OC had guys wide open all season—literally setting records for it with this terrible team—and we fired him. But we keep the trash HC.

Anyway, I'm spiraling here, thinking about all the little things other teams do right, and realizing there’s no secret recipe. They just fire people when they suck and hold folks accountable. Meanwhile, we make every excuse in the book. We're still paying Rodgers, Sauce, and someone else top-of-the-league money this year... and none of them are even on our roster.

We're doomed.

As we start watching this Super Bowl—two teams actually going for it, coming from epics lows only a couple season ago I’m just sitting here thinking we have zero chance to ever be there. Zero. And it's by design.

I see a lot of such posts these days. The notable thing is that their usual way of creating hopium isn't a thing now. No Darnold. No Wilson. No Rodgers. Just the memory of Aaron Glenn putting Justin Fields onto the field this season, and the owner too cheap to fire him, and yet they did fire pretty much their entire coaching staff. There really isn't anything to root for, nothing at all. Sure, they have draft capital, but no QB to spend it on, plus so many other holes on their roster to fill.

When Jete fans suggest the Patriots are lucky, I point out that Mike Vrabel was unemployed for an entire year and if da Jete wanted him all they had to do was make him an offer he'd accept. Apparently they weren't able to do so. Says a lot about the Jete organization, IMO.
