I wonder why -- he's been one of their best players.

It's kind of hard to picture a team that has so little talent but is still over-spending, but this is da Jete after all.

Breece Hall is in a contract year, yet da Jete already shot their wad on Wilson and Gardner. They're also still carrying Ahole's dead cap number this year and next.

Da Jete have no answer at QB so are going nowhere till they figure something out. Makes sense to see if anyone wants to take Hall off their hands since he won't be a part of their future core if/when they figure out their QB black hole. If he does have a great season they can always use the threat of the franchise tag and the bad RB market to get him to sign a favorable deal for them. If not, it's easy to let him walk. According to the article, he understands this.

IMO the Wilson and Gardner signings weren't great. IMO Gardner is already declining relative to his peak and Wilson seems to be a malcontent. They simply are not going anywhere till they get a viable QB. A sensible team would have traded one or both for draft capital to use on a QB and some OL talent that can protect that QB. They could not get a decent QB via free agency since they are carrying Ahole's dead cap hit, so it had to be the draft or bust. IMO, they chose bust.

TL;DR: The Jete Suck

We continually advise newcomers to use the American pronunciation, "Jeet," when clearly "Jete" is from the French word for "jump," as used in the world of ballet. The correct pronunciation is "Zheh tay."

As to the correct pronunciation of "Boutte..."

We never cheer for injuries, of course, but I think we are OK with going with SOFJ just like the Jete fans themselves do...

Over on their forum their biggest concern seems to be that their front office will re-sign the dude after a history of bad injuries.

A little Googling shows he was a 1st round pick in 2021. They signed him to a fifth year in 2024 so they have to pay his injury guarantees for this season but after that they can cut him.

Google also says this guy was picked in 2021 at #14, one pick before Mac Jones.

So far I haven't read how the injury happened, but indeed he seems to be unfortunate when it comes to injuries.

It seems most Jete fans seem to hate Joe Douglas the way many Pats fans seem to hate Eliot Wolf.

Unfortunately for Douglas he had the #2 overall pick in the same season five QBs were chosen, with none of them amounting to much. 4 of the 5 are no longer on the team that drafted them. Trevor Lawrence is still with the Jags, but he's more or less a JAG at QB.

Bottom line is if you spend a high draft pick on a QB and he's not a star, your job is at risk. The miss on Wilson has been a huge setback for da Jete. It is what led to them going after Rodgers which is what led to the GM and the coaching staff fired.

Icing on the cake would be they release him, we sign him, and Marrone turns him into a stalwart in our IOL.

Wow! What is it about NY teams that makes them allergic to the end zone? That's a decade of **** football. Kinda puts into perspective how lucky we were with 2 decades of elite football.

Hmmmm so they drafted a failed QB in '21 but still got another chance with Aaron freaking Rodgers.

Jets traded up from 23 to 14, jumping in front of the Patriots, in order to take him. With the Patriots seemingly set on a QB (given Mac was out there), the initial thought was that they were trying to trade ahead of the Cardinals in spot 16 in order to take him.

However, it came out the next day that the Jets were actually trying to jump the Patriots, as they seemed to think they were more interested in Vera-Tucker than they were in Mac.

-- If the Jets didn't trade up, Alijah Vera-Tucker was in play at No. 15. In that scenario, it might be AVT at 15 and Stanford QB Davis Mills in the second round.
-- I don't believe Justin Fields was a possibility at 15, CHI trade-up or no.

Would have been an interesting alternative timeline. We wouldn’t have had Barmore in such a scenario.

Probably don't go Strange the following year either.

I wanted VA Tech LT Christian Darrisaw more than AVT. I hope the Collaboration would've thought so too. Either way, it was a waste of a trade for the Jete if that really was their objective.
