Jets Pass On Jim Leonard

There is only 4 Jets that peak any interest from me talent wise. Harris Revis Mangold and Leonard. The rest is a whole bunch of suckage.

I hate the Jets as much as anyone, but there are several other players I would gladly take with the Pats. Wilkerson had a good rookie year and could be a very good player this year. As Robertweathers said, both Pouha and DeVito are good. If Landry can stay healthy, he is a stud. Cromartie is too boom or bust for my taste, but he would have started on the Pats last year. Brandon Moore is a good guard.

I don't think they have a lot of talent (granted Jets fans would say they have far more talent than the Pats), but I think they have some good players.

On this team? As a back-up, yes. But I can't see who he'd push out as a starter.

Agreed. Mankins and Waters are the starters.

Implying that if those two are PUP, retired, etc. I do believe he can push as a starter. I'm not sold on Gallery but maybe he'll be ok. I see Connolly as a C, but not sure he is better than Slauson. haven't looked that closely to say...

Amazing that they keep Eric Smith over Jim Leonhard. I mean, they lost Leonhard for one game and got rolled 45-3! But I guess the guy can't have that many years left.

What makes Landry a "stud" when healthy exactly?

I agree with the rest of your post though

He hits hard, which apparently makes up for the fact that he can't cover anyone.

The decision says a lot more about their view of Leonhard's health/durability than his skill when healthy.

My feeling is sign my dead grandmother and see if she's any good during camp. If she is, cool. If she isn't, call the turk.

Word around the league is that she's a stiff.

When it cometh to the Safety position, the Patriots shall leave NO stone unturned.

And we all shout, Hallelujah!

Landry a stud? A guy who can't cover?

hate to say this but he would be perfect for a team like the patriots.

belichick would love him and all the players would respect this guy. hes a small guy but demands everybodys respect, and all he does is study film, work his ass off.

he isnt the biggest/strongest guy but hes smart as hell. he does a ton of little things on the field that save games.

Thanks for your honesty. That's my impression of Leonard, too.

I'm inclined to agree, but when no one's knocking down your door when you're greased before training camp, everyone knows, or at least suspects, something based upon hard evidence. - namely, you're done physically.

She had fewer illegal motion penalties than Ochocinco did last year but struggled to get off the line.

Considering that the safety position is Chung, Gregory, Wilson then a cast of question marks - Ihedigbo? Brown? Barret? Etc. Add in that Wilson is a unproven rookie and signing up Leonard makes plenty of sense. He doesn't cover deep very well, a shortcoming becoming more critical as the NFL goes pass wacky. But there are ways around that - there must be because Ihedigbo doesn't cover deep well either and we rode him to SB. Leonard hits, is a natural leader type, carries no B.S. and is what used to be called a heady player. Leonard might be just what Chung needs beside him to become a star.
