Jets beat writer on Brady.. lol

Mannish Metha talks a little trash but he seems like a good guy compared to many other beat writers. Whenever he comes on Patriots talk shows, he is always respectful and transparent in his admiration of the Pats organization. He also has a good sense of humor about the dumpster fire of a team he covers.

Do we call that Comic Relief?? Gallows Humor??

Yeah, I really don't get it either. I grew up on the 49ers, Lakers, Cowboys, Yankees and Bulls dynasties. I only had any strong dislike for the Yankees and Lakers, and that was because they were my team's chief rivals. The rest, though, I could never summon any real contempt for. Even in the NBA right now (which I follow every bit as closely as the NFL), I've got no real problem with LeBron or the Warriors. I'm tired of them and would like to see other teams win titles, so I can totally understand why others feel the same re: the Pats, but that's always been about the extent of it for me. I don't have any particular resentment or dislike of any of them. Even with a guy like LeBron who basically ends the Celtics season every year, it made me frustrated with having to go against him but just made me respect him more as a player.
Do you post on an opponent's message board? I do not.

Some KC people are claiming the Refs stole the game from them.

Dee Ford was not offsides
Edelman touched the ball.
Do they not realize that Edelman literally caused the interception 2 plays later that got the Chiefs even better field position than they would have gotten had they ruled Edelman did touch the ball?

But it's hard to take seriously anyone who can't look at a straight line and see that someone's over it.

Romo said "the ball doesn't lie". Even though Edelman didn't touch it, it was divine justice for his boneheaded play to even approach that ball :)

I get it

It's what I felt watching the 96-2003 Yankees.

But always had deep respect for Jeter and Rivera even while wishing they'd lose

My problem with the Yankee was really a problem with the MLB's lack of a salary cap which gave them an unfair advantage.

Rivera always seemed like a good guy, a good sport, and the GOAT closer.

I've heard some pretty disturbing rumors about Jeter's personal like so I'm not sure what to think of him.

Jeter forget to leave you a gift basket? ;)

Remember when the Pats were the little engine that could? The plucky all for one, one for all underdog team going up against The Greatest Show On Turf? When "We are all Patriots and tonight the Patriots are World Champions" and the country loved them?

Now they are the Evil Empire.

I like this much better

You should read some of the Steeler fans’ comments about the refs handing them the game again, cheating, etc. They think the fact that Goodell was at the game means that he wanted the Patriots to win. You can’t make this stuff up.

They’re all basically saying comments that are similar. People like that are never going to respect him, and it’s a shame. They’re just haters.
Living in PA ( albeit on the Jersey line, far far from Pittsburgh,) I travel to Pittsburgh for work and their fans are petrified that the Pats will win a 6th Super Bowl. Their mantra has been," you only won three", " you only won four,", " you only won five" "we have six"... Well in 12 days, hopefully that will change and they won't be the only one with 6 rings....

This degree of emotional self awareness and maturity won't be understandable to most of his readers. The prospect of experiencing competing and inconsistent feelings about something will overload the minds of nearly any Jet fan.

That was 7 years. This is almost 20. That’s even worse.

no,he ranks below all people who cover the Patriots for the Boston Globe, Herald,
and sports talk radio in Boston
Actually Chad Finn, Jim McBride and Nora Princiotti from the Globe are pro-Pats and Karen Guregian from the Herald is pretty good, too. Ben Volin, Shank Shaughnessy and Chris Gasper from the Globe are all haters.

My understanding is that he gave many of his lady friends an unexpected surprise . . . besides the gift basket.
That infamous tree that made the rounds of the Internet..........

i completely understand other fanbases hating the pats by now, it's natural

but to hate and not respect, you're simply not a true football fan
i understand it as well. I absolutely hate the Yankees and think Derek Jeter is an overrated POS. they were winning all the time and just hiring the best players. It got old

so yes, i understabd the hatred.

You live in LA and don’t like the Lakers?
