So is Mayo going to have a must watch presser??

I suggested earlier that you can't really control how a game like that will go, especially with the Bills playing reserves. Then Milton lights it up unexpectedly. I think they might've decided to let him go after the Chargers game.

I give the Krafts a ton of credit for not only firing Mayo but for doing it so quickly.
Probably why Mayo coached his ass off today
He knew and gave them a big FU

Yeah could of worded that better. I was saying I am iffy on first year HC's in regards to the Ben Johnson's of the world.
Gotcha. I figured that was yer drift.

Gruden's mentioned because "Name I have heard of before". Same with Josh McDaniels.
Horseshit! You should pay more attention and be less smug. Multiple reports on teams "doing their due diligence" on Gruden's situation. He wants back in and teams are responding in kind.

He was the Cam Newton of the coaching staff.... 1 and done, but at least the next guy will look better by comparison....
I'm not sure I like this comparison. The next guy was Mac.

I think that is entirely possible. I think Mayo could well do the vindictive whiner thing.

1. Talk to Vrabel in-person right away
2. Talk to Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn virtually tomorrow
3. Talk to Robert Saleh and Ron Rivera in-person after that to check off Rooney Rule and also get their perspectives
4. Do a couple other interviews mid-week virtually with playoff coordinators
5. Evaluate what you've learned end of week; if Vrabel is still your top guy then hire him right away and get a jump on building a staff
6. If BJ has blown you away (pun intended) then wait for him
7. If your chosen guy doesn't want Wolf then hire a GM above him and relegate Wolf to an assistant role instead of grocery-picker

Great News! A golden opportunity for a new staff!
The wolf in a GMs clothing is here for now. They will go through the HC interview process however I think Vrabel will be hired. Listening on the radio Bedard mentioned Mayo was likely told he was out prior to the game and his contract is being bought out.

Yeah I am sure they’ll make tweaks. I am pretty sure they would have done so anyway with several guys having expiring deals.

I think the entire structure of the front office is going to change, certainly it all requires reevaluation. At the very least they're going to have to bring in a lot of bodies to get it up to today's standards. Things have changed in the NFL. It's understandable after 24 years of 'one voice' being enough the Krafts weren't convinced a sea change was neccesary or more and bigger was necessarily better. They've been proved wrong and appear to at least be owning part of the mistake. It's no coincidence that more than one person who came in to interview last year wondered where 'all the people' were

It's going to take a couple of years of steady work to rebuild this crap team. There will setbacks and frustrations, inevitably. I think I would prefer the solidly purposeful, willful Vrabel over the more impulsive, even volatile Gruden for such a task, but I will trust that the Krafts will somehow run a legit hiring process this time - unlike last time - which will reveal who is really the best candidate.

I will nut at the mere presence of "improvement."

That's all I'm trying to see. I don't give a damn how the record looks (within reason), as long as it improves and the players improve. It's fun watching a team improve. Watching the Celtics win this last season was awesome because we kept seeing improvement and we saw that team grow (granted they have an insane HC/then GM in Brad).

You hold more faith than I in the Kraft's and I hope you're right!
