Quite clearly, Peyton Manning does not suck. You can only get the most playoff losses in history by getting to the playoffs a LOT. And in order to get to the playoffs a lot you need to be a damned good quarterback.

Not when you played most of your career in the AFC South

Obviously the Denver defense sucked, but anyone pretending that the defense let the offense down in any capacity is just bull****ting.

Well that's what Peyton told them

See, me, I think if they're going to use names like "south" the teams should reflect that name. Would be kind of fun to see Indianapolis (which is North of Baltimore) switch divisions with Baltimore (which is South of Indianapolis).

Bump.

I'm still trying to find this story in the media. I see noting except for what I already posted!

Sound FX from the Super Bowl was just posted on NFL.com, and has the coaches and players mic'ed up.
It's apparent that the Broncos weren't prepared for the stadium noise, Fox didn't think it was going to be loud. Ramirez didn't hear Manning change the snap count, and then Manning regrets not going with the silent count after the play is over.
“It’s not an away game,” Fox said, via the pool report prepared by Jarrett Bell of USA Today. “The ones I’ve been to haven’t been too loud. So we just kind of practice with what we think we’re going to get.”

Delusional. You always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Bill would have never been caught with his pants down like that. Now you know why Carolina finally gave him the boot. He'll win more than he'll lose, but he'll never win the one that counts.

Re: Jermaine Wiggins: P Manning, not his center, forgot the snapcount on that bad sna

You kind of get the sense that Manning didn't want to take the blame for the mistakes, you never hear him say "my mistake, let's forget about it and move on...". It's more like, "you screwed up... I'm holding you accountable for your mistake."

Re: Jermaine Wiggins: P Manning, not his center, forgot the snapcount on that bad sna

No. He is very average.
13 trips to the playoffs.
11-12 record.
3 trips to the SB and one win in 13 years, which is close to the average of all playoff teams.
It is thoroughly average any way you slice it.

Perhaps if people were more truthful in their evaluation, it would be received better.
Peyton Manning is the biggest choker ever and sucks in the playoffs is wrong and opens up a valid counterargument.
Peyton Manning becomes mediocre in the post season, and has very average results which are underachieiving compared to his regular season success and eliminate him from consideration as the best QB ever because he may is in the discussion for best regular season QB ever, but no better than average when it matters most is an accurate depiction that prevents the counter argument that he doesn't suck, teams lose games and he didn't choke.

Maybe any way YOU slice it.....nobody has crashed and burned in the playoffs the way manning has with so many tools.....
One and done 8 times....which happens to be the same number of times Brady has made it to the AFCC
Losses include 41-0, 43-8, 20-3.

NOBODY has had so much get wrapped around him and still fall flat on his face.

Re: Jermaine Wiggins: P Manning, not his center, forgot the snapcount on that bad sna

So guys, I emailed Mike Sando at espn a copy of the Wiggins story. This was on Monday. He got back to me just yesterday at 8:31! How cool is that? (Well, I think it is).

Thanks for the note on Peyton and the safety play. That makes sense. I don't recall anyone saying it was NOT his fault, but rather that it was a communication issue. It'll be interesting to see if Manning addresses it. You know he'll be asked in greater detail.

Thanks again,
Sando
