Jason Whitlock writes one of the worst articles I've ever seen.

receivers were mugged and held like anything in that game

I was at the game and holding was everywhere and the Refs let it go until the Watson flag. They had to call that it was so blatant. The only legitimate argument that could be made is that the Refs did let it go all game why start calling it then. But either way the flag was warranted.

Actually holding our receivers was really the only way to defend that offense for most teams and the Eagles, Ravens etc... all did it down the stretch and the Refs let it go.

I know that I'm :deadhorse: but how does he have a job? What would happen if these exact points were made by a white writer, except he said he was rooting for Brady's side?

Guys like Whitlock, who think they are revealing some great inequity, are actually a very large part of whatever problems actually exist.

Nailed it right on the head. He's actually perpetuating racism in today's society. The only difference is that he's doing it through sports. The guy essentially admitted in the article that he is pulling for the Ravens because they are black. :ugh:

I ask 3 questions:

1. Has he ever written a good article?
2. Has he ever written an article that didn't bring up race?
3. Has he ever written an article that could even remotely be considered pro Patriots?

He has written some articles favoring Brady over Manning. I wouldn't call them "good" but at least tolerable and somewhat pro-Patriots since they suggested Manning was not at Brady's level (something that based on the last two years seems more obvious). He does that because it tweaks Manning fans from Indianapolis, his hometown. In his mind, Manning must somehow be even a little more white than Brady.

Among the white guys on planet Earth, he likes Jeff George and that seems to be about it. They were high school buddies/ teammates. Race is interjected into everything he writes as far as I can tell.

It's not a black/white issue. It's a Jason Whitlock issue. He's trying to play the race card as a way to provoke response. For race pimps like Whitlock it's all they know. They're pavlovian dogs, ring the bell and they drool. It's so tedious and irrelevant.
When I heard Glen and Mike mention a Jason Whitlock article on the Pats/Ravens match-up (I got out of the car before they discussed it) I KNEW what the angle would be ahead of time. I haven't read Whitlock's piece and yet I can tell you what it's about.
He's a Pavlovian dog.

Aww, c'mon. That just HAS to be a reprint from The Onion, right?

I hate Terrell Suggs. Not because he's black, but because he has a very bad tooth-to-gum ratio. Sort of like Geena Davis.

Ouch...dayum blackglass don't go that far.

Not that i didn't laugh but that's just cruel.

Doesn't make him a thug,

Yes, it does, for some people.

then again I have seen real ones and not exaggerated tv characters.

There is hardly if any in the NFL I would say, they may not be clean and educated but that is a different topic.

Are you really going down this path? The guy was accused of beating his girlfriend and pouring bleach on her. That's not just a lack of cleanliness.

So he is basically accusing an entire organization of being Racist without any substantiation. Calling it "the elephant in the room", etc. For a person in a journalist's capacity to be able to do that without any repercussions is a shame.

A good friend of mine reads this hack's work... and routinely cites it when we discuss sports (generally football).

I perused one of Witlock's articles before at my friend's suggestion, then quickly stopped after a paragraph jam-packed with mind-numbing, stilted, and histrionic syntax to prevent the further destruction of brain cells.

Indeed, this clown is at or near the top of my "do not feed the hack" list of "writers".

I wonder how Whitlock see the world. I am not him, I don't know what he goes through or has gone through, but it is sad that his lens only sees black and white racial slant to every event.

I think its funny (and a little telling) that some of you think he accused the Patriots of being "racist." That wasn't anywhere in that article, it was about cultural representation and history. You don't have to get so defensive about everything that has to do with race. Anyway this is discussion for some other forum and context.

I think it's funny, (and a lot telling) that you thought the article was good and had valid points, when it was poorly written and was wrong on all essential matters.

No, we accused him of being a racist. And also of being wrong on the core facts of what he was trying to claim.

This is the idiot who wanted BB to sign Jeff George after Tom Brady went down.

More like the idiot who wants every team whose starting QB goes down to sign Jeff George.

Well, Rex's timeout played just as big a role as the officiating, and that's why I wont say "the flags lost the game for us".

But in a game like that, it isn't reasonable to expect anyone to overcome such crucial flags.

You do realize that mike pereira, the head of nfl officiating at the time, was on NFL network during the week after the game and basically said YES all those flags were valid and called correctly.

Chris Rock said that there is no one on earth as racist as old black men. Whitlock is an old black man. Q.E.D.
