Jay Glazer ?@JayGlazer 3m
Any contender wanting to trade for Allen will need to give more than a 3 as that's what they could get as compensation if he leaves via FA
But more then a 3rd

No thanks. I'm more than happy with the guys they have in their stable. Nink, Chris Jones, and Vellano all have played good this season. Kelly should be back soon, and for my money, Chandler Jones a top 5-10 DE in the league right now and is ascending as we speak. Plus Andre Carter is back in the bullpen.
The Patriots have no use for Allen's services especially at his price tag.
Allen is a blue chip player. BB doesn't bring in blue chip players. BB likes to go dumpster diving for our roster.
Jared Allen's salary is $14.28M. The Patriots would have to pay 9/17 of that, or $7.56M. The Patriots have just under $6M in cap room right now. That's a straight forward no.How much of his roster would we pick up?
Also as a previous poster said if we give up a 3rd and a 6th and then he leaves to a monster contract in FA do we get a Comp 3rd back?
I'd do that honestly sheerly for the fact that for this team to succeed we need a dominant defense. We just signed Andre Carter and you can't tell me he is any better than Allen?
Jones and Allen across from each other changes this D for the better. it also frees up Nink to play LB now Mayo is gone.
I don't think this is as straight forward of a No as people are saying.
we need a bigger NT in the middle then the edge rusher right now. jones/nink/carter/buchanan are servicable but we need the man in the middle.
didn't we sign a lard butt last week along with carter ?
