When perception is reality.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case in this forum. PATRIOTSFANINPA isn't the worst though. Just wait until the regular season rolls around...

True, he's a consistent year round moan, it's the ones who come out from under the bed during the seasonal lows who really get the tears flowing.

Truth is the truth homer,The team better have a stoppage in the secondary than in 08 or it will be trouble - you can slice and dice your crap all you want, the secondary was at the bottom of the league and Bodden and Springs hopefully will help that area.

BTW: I get a little bit annoyed at how you try and tell people what to say and when to say it - All you want is to read in here is what you like to read and for everyone to agree with you,A closer 'Reality check' says that you're no more special than anyone in here so can it with that lecture garbage,I am 40+ years old and taking orders from 'Daddy' are over. - For instance,Who the hell are you to tell someone not to use the word '******ed' in a freaking internet forum? - Unless its used against another member as a personal attack, its not a rule in here not to say 'Rex Ryan is ******ed' for example.

In reality, people like me who thought Cassel was going to ruin the teams playoff hopes in 2008 turned out to not be the case - It was the secondary who cost the team a few games by missing on some important stops during crucial times and a huge reason why Hobbs was no longer a necessity to keep - This secondary needs to be the difference this season, like it or not...and that includes you accepting that fact Andy.

Now to avoid any further waste of my time, back to the thread at hand....

Did you not hear BB after the draft? The reason they traded Hobbs had nothing to do with his play last year. He came out and said that, going into the draft, they had no intentions of trading Hobbs and they actually had turned down the Eagles offer initially. So, how does that support the idea that Hobbs was no longer a necessity?

The entire defense had issues last year. Not just the secondary. People forget that Warren was playing injured most of the year and that the Pats lost both Thomas and Woods within 3 weeks of one another. And they ended up losing Bruschi at the end of the year as well.. So they were forced to use Seau and Colvin. Two players who had been sitting at home most of the season.

People seem to forget that none of these things happen in a vacuum. One affects the other.

Also, lets not forget that the O-line was thoroughly inconsistent for the 1st 6 games of the year and it wasn't until Neal's return that they settled down.

People like yourself were wrong about Cassel coming out of camp. People like yourself have been wrong about Sanders. People seem to forget that Rodney Harrison was one of the best Safeties to ever play the game. So comparing Sanders to him is unfair in the extreme.

I think BB was referring to Hobb's 4 years of production in the system. If Hobbs showed the same kind of a ramp similar to Asante's and put up a 8 INT year, they would have treated his situation a little differently. I agree that BB didnt think Hobbs play last year was so terrible that it forced his hand to move him, but once BB landed Springs, Butler, Chung and knew he had some kind of deal with Bodden, Hobbs was expendable and gonzo- either via trade at the end of TC or cut altogether.
