You know my feelings, I would love javon walker and would run up the podium to select him if you have to select him. He plays violent and fast which is I believe Vrabel is looking for.

I don't disagree, I just think picking Campbell makes the rest of the draft easier. I can get excited about Walker though, so long as they use him right. His speed would be a great asset against the scrambling of the three QBs in our division.

Has there been much smoke around Walker? I really like him but apart from a Giardi/Breer report that they have some interest, pretty much everyone seems to think the pick is Campbell.

I’m sure they have interest but it doesn’t feel in a we will draft him at 4 type of way.

I think it’s more about him being another character guy and the most likely alternative to a LT. He also fits the aggressive defense that Vrabel seems to want. He’s also fast like the Jets’ Jermaine Sherwood that Vrabel reportedly wanted. They have enough linebackers on the roster so perhaps not a need, more a potential Vrabel want.

Being a BPA guy, I recognize that needs do exist, and if we don't prioritize the need at tackle like other teams, we might keep coming up short. We do need a couple of tackles.

It’ll no doubt be short lived, but I’m starting to feel this pick. Part of me thinks Vrabel wants to build a dominant defense letting McDaniels scheme help for whichever LT is drafted at 38 or in a trade up into the late first round. Conerly?

Campbell is the sensible option and will still probably be the pick but Walker is the exciting pick. And it’s not as though Campbell has a character advantage over Walker who has been getting rave reviews.

At the workout in Athens last week where we told you (in my takeaways) that Mykel Williams struggled, Walker wowed the scouts in attendance. In these settings, NFL teams have seen a guy who moves, in the words of one GM, “like a 5' 9" skill player.”
