Been working on a look at our offense this year... it is incomplete, but is a break down of the personnel groupings for first five games... need to catch up at some point and get the rest of the games to date in there...

Question is this - How would you categorize Jack Westover?

As a full back? as tight end?

On the roster he is listed as a full back... to be honest I haven't paid too much attention to him, so is he being used purely as a full back? is it correct to categorize him as a running back for the purposes of the personnel groupings?

In the personnel groupings (11, 12, 21, etc), how would you classify him?

any input would be appreciated...

Jack Westover sucks hoping C.J. Dippre passes him: also can't wait to see Brock Lampe next year. Lampe is a very powerful Blocker from the FB position. Westover should be on a PS and not among the Actives.

while i appreciate the comment, its not about his ability, its so far afield from the question asked in the op, why even post it?

I updated the title to be more clear about what I am look for

Westover is neither a FB or TE on the Pro level that's why I brought up the other Guys. Hope that helps.

Westover is either a stay-at-home FB or blocking TE. Hes got one passing target all year.

Hes in his first year playing the position. I don't think hes sucked.

IIRC Develin needed a year to learn the position.

So treat him as a back then?
In the last several games I only recall him in as a fullback.

When they want a blocking TE they seem more likely to go with an extra lineman,

Yes. He is a blocking FB. On occasion hes lined up on the line (as Develin did from time to time) to block.

Based on the eyeball test, Westover is definitely more the traditional blocking FB rather than a TE even though he’s also our TE3 on paper.
