I think this guy could be a real steal for whatever team picks him. Watch tape of him, he is a dominant pass rusher and has drawn comparisons to Brian Orakpo who successfuly made the transition from defensve end in collge to linebacker in the pros. He could be that player the Patriots pick at 28 that has people scratching their heads. He has a few character concerns after an arrest in July last year but the Patriots have shown that they're willing to look past some character concerns with players. Brandon Spikes was picked by them at the end of the 2nd round last year and he was projected as a late third/fourth rounder so Sheard could be a legit possibility.

Sheard is good against the run and a good edge rusher, prior to the Combine I had he and Kerrigan pegged as OLB possibilities with major questions concerning their ability to play in space. Kerrigan has convinced me with his drills at the Combine and the reports from his drills at the Pro-Day. I need to rewatch the Combine recording, but I don't recall Sheard in the drills and he apparently did not do the change of direction tests. Doubt remains. Additionally, in the games I saw he did not switch sides, something more to check out.
