Green Bay — Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly will once again have to face a felony drug charge alleging he illegally possessed large amounts of codeine in his hometown of Houston.
Jolly was indicted for the second time by a Harris County (Texas) grand jury Tuesday for possessing 200-400 grams of codeine. It is a second-degree felony that carries a sentence of between two and 20 years if convicted.
However, because it would be Jolly's first offense if convicted, he would be eligible for probation. If the jury recommended that he should be sentenced to 10 years or fewer and they recommended the sentence be probated, he could be placed on community supervision.
