Is it me or does Seau stink?

Seemed like on every big Denver rush , he was sealed off. I know he is 37, but if he's playing all year, the Pats are in big trouble. I won't even get into the lousy DB's. This is not a SuperBowl team, playoffs yes, SuperBowl no.

I agree... he had some great plays, but he couldn't get off his block on a number of runs that really killed us.... go back and look at those plays and see where the RB passes the LOS... you will see Seau right there in the position to make the stop if he can just shake the blocker and even get something on the RB to slow him down. Same thing happened with Vrabel later and he shook the defender enough to stop the RB. Seau needs to improve.

The angle on the plummer bootleg was pathetic.

I still think he is a fine LB and will help us, but I am not sure that the lineup with TBC in it isn't a better one.

I was actually thiking of making a thread to say this is the one signing which has looked solid so far. The last 2 weeks Seau has been very good, am I the only one who sees this?

Seau is done a great job. The defense was out there way too long with out any help from the offense. Lets be real Seau had nothing to do wit those two touchdowns or the offense looking pathetic.

I'm with RIP40 on this one. I made a point of watching the replays on the big ground gainers and they all seemed to be run right at Seau. He can't shed a blocker to save his life.

But I'm even more gloomy about the D. Is it just me or does our defense just look plain slow? The line is more than holding its own but our linebackers are aging and the d-backs just s*ck. Who's our stud back there? Denver went conservative in the second half so I wouldn't put much stock in them only scoring 17. They had the game well in hand for most of the second half.

For all the hand-wringing over the offense, I think they're going to get better. Its the defense I'm concerned about as they just look plain old and slow.

I never really liked his game, he's more like a D lineman playing a 1 gap than a LB. What I mean is he's never relied on making proper reads, rather just used his athleticism to crash the backfield and get the sack/stop the play behind the line. He is making an effort to be more disciplined this year, with mixed results. His good plays this year seem to come when he is used on stunts/blitzes rather than forcing him to read/react.

I agree with you. The real problem is with Asante and the ***** cats who play behind him. A more girlie tacklin bunch I cannot remember.

They all sucked tonight. Wilson, Vrabel and several other wiffed on tackles tonight.
Wilson...seems popular to blame him, he made some tackles that he would have whiffed on from the Jets game and he layed a great hit on that reciever which should have ended up a fumble. Lets not single out too many players, especially a few players who were the few positives on defense.

He leads the team in Tackles right now actually...
