Is Brady Entering his final year?

I think Brady will retire before playing with another team. His wife was (according to him) asking him to retire after this last championship run.

This. If I were Gisele, I'd be beginning to want him out of the game that's turning the brains of so many players to porridge. From her point, he has nothing left to prove, so why risk his health for the rest of his life?

I highly doubt there's any way they trade him if he's still playing like Brady. It's much more likely that he calls it a career. Especially if he wins his 6th.

I don't believe they would trade and I believe Brady will play 4-5 more seasons. They will trade Garrapolo in August if Brissett is ready, and they will pick Brady's successor in next years draft.

I also doubt there's much of a trade market for a 41+ year old Brady even if the team wanted to go that route. Unless they're thinking of a team like the Jets who would do anything to sell tickets and get on the back of the papers in the NY media over the Giants.

Yeah - as if.

The real question is how long would the site be down due to the denial of service attack by it's members posting and refreshing at an epic pace should this ever come to fruition?

More likely because he will not be traded under any circumstances but equally unlikely because the ban himself says he isn't retiring.

There are no amount of rings that would make Brady say getting another one doesn't matter.

My absolute favorite idea is the Pats with Brady winning the Super Bowl next year and then us parting ways with him. I have never had sh*t that strong.

Brady strikes you as the kind of guy that would announce his retirement and go on a "retirement tour" ala Kobe and Jeter? Even if he wanted to retire, there would be no way anyone outside of the organization would know about it.

He also wouldn't be saying he wants to play into his mid 40s and maybe beyond if he is getting ready to walk.

I mean they are the mans own words, stated multiple times explained and expanded upon.
You think he is lying?

You still haven't answered my question. It's a yes or no question: Does Brady strike you as the kind of guy to announce that he's going to retire after the season and go on a retirement tour? Yes or no?

And yes, I think he'd EASILY lie about something like that to not cause a media uproar should that be the case.

Why would the patriots part with the GOAT after he just won a SB?
That makes no sense at all.

Hey Tom thanks for being the greatest QB ever, thanks for #6 and 3 of the last 4 bit we are going to cut you now. Stupid.

The fact that he wouldn't announce his retirement in advance isn't close to proof he is retiring.

And no, there is no way he would create multiple conversations about hos personal feelings about how much he loves to play and how he is nowhere near ready to walk away if he were going to walk away.

He doesn't need to say he wants to play until his mid 40s and expand on the topic to not cause a media uproar.
He could simply answer it like he answers other hypothetical questions.
He is adamantly asserting his feelings about this.

Not my idea - but has been regularly pushed here. Insane.

Cards tank this year HC gets fired.

McDaniels gets the HC position.

Cards send two first round picks and a 2nd rounder to the pats for brady and edlemen.

Brady plays two more years for Arizona before retiring.

So your opinion of Tom Brady is he is bored with football and has no competitive drive left because "he has nothing left to prove" and he lets his wife make his football decisions?
Doesn't sound like the guy I've been observing for 17 years.

You still haven't answered the question. It's a yes or no question: Does Brady strike you as the kind of guy that would announce his retirement beforehand and go on a retirement tour IF he plans on retiring? Yes or no.
And I'm not going to answer your question.
Because the question is irrelevant and meaningless.
You are trying to argue that he is going to retire because he isn't a guy who would want a retirement tour.
The why didn't he retire last year becayse you could have saud the exact same thing.

It's like me saying does Brady look like a guy who would quit on his teammates and try to shoehorn that as relevant to this conversation.

I wonder if Brady wins another title this year he walks away. 6 Rings, 2 runs of 3 out of 4 years. Maybe its possible the whole "want to play another 5 years" things has just been to keep the questions of his retirement at a minimum. There just seems to be something else at play here. Keeping Jimmy G. McDaniels not taking any head coaching openings seriously. The Pats stacking the deck for this season, passing up on the draft. Tom letting it slip he is getting it from Super G to retire. Not saying it will happen, but it wont shock me if it did.

I think the desire to be the first QB to ever win 3 in a row would be too great for him to retire in that scenario

In 2005 he was quoted as saying he wanted to be the first team to do it.. obviously it didn't work out that year, but Brady is a lunatic and I'm sure would relish the chance to try again

It's also possible the Pats franchise Jimmy and carry a hefty portion of their cap on the QB position for 1 year

And I'm not going to answer your question.

So the answer is no. Therefore, if you don't think that he's going to announce his retirement, it's an impossible conversation to have and, much like anyone else in this thread (including me), you're simply making guess work.

Because the question is irrelevant and meaningless.
You are trying to argue that he is going to retire because he isn't a guy who would want a retirement tour.

I'm not making any such argument. Hence why I put the words MORE LIKELY in the post you quoted. Also notice it was in response to someone bringing up the team trading him. I could see it going either way. I can see reasons why he'll stay just as much as I can see reasons why he would retire. In the end, I have no clue what he'll do. What I DO know, however, is that he won't announce his retirement. Nobody will know when his last season will be outside of anyone in that building.
