Brady & Rodney were IRd fairly quickly. The day after their injuries IIRC. Maroney was more of a slow burn, but he really never had a definitive severe injury, so who knows there.

Point is, when a player is pretty much out, the Pats IR them quickly. Thus far, three days after the injury, AD is still on the roster.

So what do you think: Does he hit IR or not?

They're probably waiting until after the Jests game to add some intrigue.

Disagree. There's no suspense as to whether he'll play Sunday or not. His arm was dangling off the other day. The question is can he be ready for playoffs or not, and is not having another OLB for 8 weeks - for instance - worth it? I say, yes, it is worth it, as we know, games in January and February are the ones that matter most.

If he can't come back altogether, then Vince Redd should be placed on the roster immediately. IMO, if he's not IR'd after his surgery today, he's not getting IR'd.

Agree. I suspect we'll know for certain by tomorrow noon.

I voted yes, but after the Jets game. Make the Rat boys game plan with AD in the lineup, he'll be IR'd after that.

Scratch that did not know about the surgery today, I have no idea!

If his "arm was dangling off" like Seau's then he wont be playing again this season. It all depends how bad this break was and how surgery goes.

I agree. I absolutely, positively guarantee he will NOT play Sunday. Good call!

I agree with Alamo that there is no rush to IR him given the short week. Wait until medical people rule on the possibility of a playoff return. That's 9 weeks until the wildcard weekend.

??????

I thought Patslifer, the man who knows all, said Thomas was IRed days ago.

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...-butch-stearns-adalius-thomas-out-season.html

Patslifer posted that about 45 seconds after it was reported on the TV. I know b/c I was watching the TV and on patsfans at the same time. So I'm guessing his source was the same as mine, the local news.

Here's the bottom line:

The gruesomeness of Thomas' injury suggests he's done for the year.

The fact that he has not been IR'd suggests he's not.

One of these two things will prove right over the next couple days.

Once they have all the information, there's an obvious and necessary move to be made: Vince Redd is waiting and would add to depth in a much needed area. It's a question of when they receive that information.

well know for certain early next week,

but its obvious that BB does not think AD is quite as replacable as was rodney or maroney, b/c he is really prolonging this and wants to make completely sure that AT will be used for the PO if it is at all possible...
