Im surprised to see it say "former Eagle" because usually when a player does something bad he is always regarded as "former Patriot" no matter how long he was actually with the team.

I thought Irving turned his life around and became super Christian by the time he was with the Phins?

Yeah, because a super Christian has never committed a crime. It's not a shock when holier than thou people get caught committing a crime. I remember an uber religious politician who got caught in an airport bathroom soliciting sex from a guy. He was against gay marriage

Well, I wasn't trying to start a 'lol xtians are dumb' tangent. Fryar was my first ever favorite Patriot (i'm old) and I was happy he had turned his life around.

Pretty sad - he claims he was conned but that wouldn't explain why he and his mother misrepresented how much she was earning a week.

I was a huge Fryar fan when we drafted him, though he never really was a star for the Pats, that came later with other teams. But he never was the sharpest knife in the drawer. I do remember him leading his church as a pastor or something.

Friar got it all wrong. You are supposed to find God AFTER you are convicted of a crime and go to jail.

He was, the week before the Super Bowl......

I really dislike these type of crimes.

Read the article which he and his mother candidates for prison terms. Meanwhile, the guy that advised him on the scam has taken the deal with prosecutors and will not go to jail (does this smell?). Like a previous poster stated, Fryer wasn't the sharpest knife in the draw. BTW, he's currently working as a pastor......

You definitely wanted to keep all sharp objects and mechanical devices away from Fryar in those days.
Yeah, ugh huh, I'm sure he cut himself putting the knife back in the drawer and not trying to prevent someone from burying it in his chest.....
