Interesting - Ryan meet with Revis | Revis Deal Done

4) Revis wanted 16 million per season. The Jets got him for 11.5 million per season. Now use your brain and think to yourself who won this standoff. I'm sure if you think long and hard enough you can come up with the OBVIOUS answer.

I love the way Revis worked over the Jets fans and front office. The guy asks for the moon, they given him half the moon, and the fans and front office think they got him, while the guy is laughing all the way to the bank.

You Jets fans might want to stay away from places where people engage in bargaining, because you don't know jack about how it's done.

OK, I understand that your coach and most of your fans are acting like penises, but what is there to envy?
We've been better for 10 years.

Emphasis on the word LEGITIMATELY.

Apparently, he means in Madden.

OK lets see.
Ryan is a cool dude, and his attitude is probably the most motivational ever seen in the NFL. Players will play better just because of him. Its too early, but soon they better start working on the bust for Canton.
Cromartie is the second best corner in the NFL, no make that the second best of all time.
Sanchez was a rookie last year, so nothing he did matters, the sheer fact that it is going to be his second year means he will be a probowl franchise QB.
Tomlinson is in his prime, the SD OL sucked.
Faneca was terrible we are better off without him.
Rhodes was a starter butwe all know he shouldnt have been, so we are better off without him too.
Jason Taylor will have his best year ever because Rex Ryan is a defensive genius, so it doesnt matter, in fact Butkus may come out of retirement in his 60s and make the probowl playing for Rex.
Tannenbaum is a freakin genius. He played Revis like a drum. Revis folded like a cheap suit, it is so funny that a guy with 3 year left on his contract could void 20mill in guarantees then get it back with 25 mill more. What a tool, Tanny Rules!!!
I can't see how the Jets don't go at least 14-2.

Did I miss anything?
Does that make me fair and balanced, or do I have to go through how the Patriots suck in every way first?

No, it makes you a clown, because I didn't post any of that cr@p!!!

Uh huh, Revis worked over the Jets.

Do all Pats fans have down syndrome?

Wow....down syndrome. Spoken like a true NY Jets fan.

LOL, his response proved my point. A guy that makes fun of people with a syndrome he can't even name correctly, a guy that has no idea how people bargain, this person is totally lost in the world.

No, that is just the homer in you that refuses to acknowledge or give credence to it.

Cromartie has had a great off-season and pre-season, he's back playing in the defensive scheme that suits his talents. The Charger defensive philosophy changed after Marty left, they played more zone than the pressure attacking style they played when Cromartie was playing at a pro bowl level. The change in Cromartie's play was apparent even in pre-season, the Jets system suits him very well, and he was even playing physical football for a change.

The change in scenery, a coaching staff that he respects and a system he likes to play in will probably mean a big improvement and a return to the player many thought he would become

you must of been watching a different set of Jets games than I. Because I saw Cromartie out of place several times in first three games. Making the wrong read allowing guys to be wide open etc... Good luck with that.

Clasic Penis Envy

....So stop the penis envy and when you guys get LEGITIMATELY better, I'll acknowledge it and come back here and accept the verbal abuse.

A first post here from a jets fan and he talks about envy from the Pats fans? Why am I not surprised.

Legtimacy on paper or on the field? and you'll be back for verbal abuse? Yeah right...

There are few other Jets fans on this board who act with class. Maybe you should try to emulate them if you want to get your points across.

Clasic Penis Envy

You guys say the Jets caved. You say Cro is overrated. blah blah blah

Meanwhile, you guys can't even sign your best Offensive Lineman.

Now lets bring all you guys back down to Earth and have you face the facts:

1) Revis is better than ANY defensive player you have on your entire team. As always, he will make Randy Moss his B$TCH twice this season. He will COMPLETELY shut him down and you all know it.

2) Cro has always been best suited for man coverage. Another fact ANY Patsy fan loves to deny. He also played quite well against Wes Welker in the past when he was in man coverage. He will ONLY cover Welker in man coverage. Welker will still get his, though. A lot of short yardage underneath passes basically serving as a running play. I'll give him about 5 catches for 35 yards in week 2.

3) Our defense, with or without Revis, is head and shoulders better than your defense another fact you would love to deny but simply cannot. We were the number 1 ranked defense in EVERY major statistical category last season without Kris Jenkins. Jenkins is the best NT in football, better than Wilfork will ever be.

Now we come into this season having added a healthy Jenkins, Cro, and drafted Kyle Wilson for the slot. This allows us to send NINE at times against opponents.

Get ready for your dearly beloved Brady to get his ***** kicked all over the field this season. The last time I checked Brady didn't play very well when he was in the fetal position each and every play.

The Jets will overload the LOS and simply come with more pass rushers than you can provide blockers at times. Hell, besides Mankins, there's NO ONE from your OL that I would want on my team. So even when we just man up we'll still get past your underperforming OL and get hits on Brady.

4) Revis wanted 16 million per season. The Jets got him for 11.5 million per season. Now use your brain and think to yourself who won this standoff. I'm sure if you think long and hard enough you can come up with the OBVIOUS answer.

In conclusion, you guys should focus on your own team and how they can get better. Because you guys are way behind at this point. Even if you guys had Bodden, Warren, and Kaczur you still weren't good enough to beat us when it matters most anyway. So stop the penis envy and when you guys get LEGITIMATELY better, I'll acknowledge it and come back here and accept the verbal abuse.

Why would we bother to answer this crap when you, like every other Jet Troll from the past few years are going to disappear. This year, all of you will disappear after week two. Happens every year, just like clockwork.

You are a fool! I could go into detail but its not worth it.

Good post, but the whole HBO angle is a flawed rant.

Jets aren't doing anything they didn't do last year, HBO wanted to actually feature the Jets last year but Tannenbaum and the front office said "no," new regime, rookie year, they wanted Rex to get settled in.

I don't get all the crying about how Rex operates. Many cry about his abrasive style, and how he disrespects the rest of the league, Pat fans do this all the time. How the hell can any Pat fan kill a coach for being disrespectful when their own coach is probably one of the bigger schmo's in the league?

Rex' mantra is about creating an environment that his players respond to, and give forth maximum effort, isn't that the objective? Does he not achieve this? Do you think Belichick cares who he pisses off when he gets killed for his in-game and post game antics?

I'll stick to my guns re HBO. It was preening and turned a lot of people off across the league, not just Pats fans.

On Rex, I don't think I said anything about him personally other than that I admire him as a DC and Defensive mind, just as I admired his dad. I tend to agree with Gary Myers who has written often that Ryan's primary objective is to take the Tabloid and Page Six heat off of his guys; and, he has done that quiet effectively. So, kudos there. If you're asking me straight up whether I think he talks too much, my answer is "yes." But, as you suggest, he already knows that he does and he really doesn't care what I think.

As for creating the right environment for play, well, the jury is honestly out on that one. He has certainly turned the locker room around from the "Mangini Morgue," but the test of the environment will come if the Jets struggle at the beginning of the season and some of the new "celebrities" start to mouth off, as they were known to do in the past. For now, I'll agree that he has created a positive and even "fun" place to play, but recall that a lot of folks in NY were turning on him before Polian gave the team life.

As for BB, yeah, you're right. He really doesn't give a flying **** what anybody thinks of him, but neither did Lombardi or Brown. Rex is several seasons and a few HC rings away from being in their company.

I'm a long time jets troll lurker, but I have to say, while obviously a pats fan and biased like all fans are your posts usually have more logic than homerism in them.

I think the Jets paid a lot for revis, but not too much. They needed him on the field so they paid for it.

lol, the Jets fans are finally back now that Revis has signed. Classic, only Jets fans can be insecure frontrunners for a .500 team.

That's pretty much my take on it: they paid a lot, probably overpaid in the traditional sense, but he's a market-setting talent anyways, so whatever. Makes it near-impossible for them to keep good depth around, but that's not their philosophy anyways.

No, it makes you a clown, because I didn't post any of that cr@p!!!
Yeah, you pretty much did. But feel free to direct me to any post you have ever made on this board that isnt overly optimistic and/or defensive of the Jets.

...is that why Cromartie had his best season, by far, the year after Marty left? :ugh:

Okay. I'll play...

Clasic Penis Envy

Why would anyone here have penis envy over a team that hasn't even sniffed a Super Bowl since The Beatles put on their last public concert?

You guys say the Jets caved. You say Cro is overrated. blah blah blah

While I think that the contract was better than what was anticipated for the Jets, the team DID cave. How you can deny that is beyond me. Your fat head coach spent the entire offseason preaching to the media that the Jets were more than just one guy and how it was the scheme that made them the number one defense in the NFL... then he flies down to Florida and puts on the knee pads.

As for Cromartie, he is overrated.

Meanwhile, you guys can't even sign your best Offensive Lineman.

No argument here.

Now lets bring all you guys back down to Earth and have you face the facts:

1) Revis is better than ANY defensive player you have on your entire team. As always, he will make Randy Moss his B$TCH twice this season. He will COMPLETELY shut him down and you all know it.

The funny thing is that, just like your coach, all of you Jersey trash Jets fans were in here saying that it was the scheme and not Revis that had that defense as the top dogs in 2009. Then most of you mysteriously disappeared. Now you're back. And guess what? You'll be gone after a couple of weeks again... just like every other year.

As for the defenses...

D-Line: Edge Jets
ILB: Edge Pats
OLB: Even
CB: Edge Jets
Safety: Edge Pats

At CB, specifically, Jets win by default because Revis is a great CB right now. However, outside of Revis, I would take anyone of our CB's over what you have. And that includes the CB that your coach himself was salivating over in the draft: McCourty.

Is that why Cromartie had his best season as a pro playing soft zone coverage? :bricks:

3) Our defense, with or without Revis, is head and shoulders better than your defense another fact you would love to deny but simply cannot. We were the number 1 ranked defense in EVERY major statistical category last season without Kris Jenkins. Jenkins is the best NT in football, better than Wilfork will ever be.

In the past, Jenkins was by far the best NT in football. Now? Not even close. Jenkins has bad knees, is on the wrong side of 30, and is a season-ending injury waiting to happen. As for your defense, yeah it's good. But it's extremely prone to the type of offense we run. Brady loves that type of blitz and showed it last year when we torched your overmatched defense for almost 430 yards in our house. Guess what? Brady has even more weapons to play with this year.

Sure, your defense might be better than our's. But at least Sanchez will make our defense's job easier, as much as he sucks. I highly doubt Brady is going to return that favor.

You might want to do your math again, champ. If you send NINE pass rushers at any opponent, you're going to get burned consistently. The Jets should be happy you're not calling the plays for their defense.

The Jets will overload the LOS and simply come with more pass rushers than you can provide blockers at times. Hell, besides Mankins, there's NO ONE from your OL that I would want on my team. So even when we just man up we'll still get past your underperforming OL and get hits on Brady.

Matt Light is either the best, or is in the top two of LT's in the division. Dan Connolly is a back-up, and most of us are hoping that he can do the job. I have my doubts, but we'll see. Koppen gets more crap than he deserves as a center and has been able to hold your boy off of our quarterback before. Neal, when healthy, is the top guard in the division (and better than anything you have on your team). And Vollmer is an up and coming mauler at RT. You might want to re-think that because, by my estimation, the only place where you guys have us at on the O-Line is center and possibly LG, depending on what happens with Kaczur.

As for overloading the box, go ahead. We'll just do the same thing to your defense that we did in the last match-up, which is kill you where you're exposed underneath. Simply put, there's a reason why Brady has been one of the most successful quarterbacks against the blitz in the last decade. You'd think Jets fans would know that by now.

4) Revis wanted 16 million per season. The Jets got him for 11.5 million per season. Now use your brain and think to yourself who won this standoff. I'm sure if you think long and hard enough you can come up with the OBVIOUS answer.

While the Jets are still paying A LOT for a cornerback, and while you can't possibly deny that their money is unevenly divided, the Revis deal is a lot better than what was anticipated. Any honest Pats fan will tell you that.

I certainly hope you come back when you're proven wrong and start the season at 0-2. It's doubtful though. In the end, you'll probably be like every single other Jets fan that has come here during the offseason with his chest puffed out in the last five years or so. You come in, scream about how "DIS IS DA YEAR OF DA JETS, BABY!", talk about how the Pats are far behind, and then disappear when your team gets it's teeth kicked in.

Yeah, and here I was thinking that the fractured hip and actually being asked to start had something to do with it...

Clasic Penis Envy

You guys say the Jets caved. You say Cro is overrated. blah blah blah

Meanwhile, you guys can't even sign your best Offensive Lineman.

one has.... what to do with the other?

1) Revis is better than ANY defensive player you have on your entire team. As always, he will make Randy Moss his B$TCH twice this season. He will COMPLETELY shut him down and you all know it.

Until/unless you guys figure out how to deal with Welker, Gronkowski, Faulk, Tate, etc., the Pats will put up 30 points on you just like they did last time they played each other.

Cro has a bad hip and has had one exceptional year in his career. Not even remotely afraid of him.

There isn't a single coach in the NFL that would take Jenkins over Wilfork right now. Not to mention that Jenkins will be out for the year by week 8 anyways.

Now we come into this season having added a healthy Jenkins, Cro, and drafted Kyle Wilson for the slot. This allows us to send NINE at times against opponents.

I hope the Jets send nine blitzers routinely. That would work out very well for them.

Get ready for your dearly beloved Brady to get his ***** kicked all over the field this season. The last time I checked Brady didn't play very well when he was in the fetal position each and every play.

Only if you think that 310 yards, a TD, and a 98.6 rating is a bad game.

The Jets will overload the LOS and simply come with more pass rushers than you can provide blockers at times. Hell, besides Mankins, there's NO ONE from your OL that I would want on my team. So even when we just man up we'll still get past your underperforming OL and get hits on Brady.

That was the gameplan last time, when the Pats put up 30 points on you. By all means, blitz the hell out of Brady. That kind of stuff works on bad quarterbacks, but once a good quarterback has some game tape on you and has seen you before, they'll kick your ass like Brady and Manning both did the second time you played them last year. Rex Ryan's defenses will always get pwned by elite QBs, which is why he'll never win a SB.

P.S., please take "Maine" out of your name. You make the rest of us look bad by being such an idiot.
