Hey guys, we are running the Interactive Mock again due to popular demand. The fan forums of each NFL team get to vote for who their team should pick.

Last time Pats fans chose JJ Watt and 54 people voted total.

You can cast your vote for who you want your team to pick this time around here:

Interactive Mock 2.0

And if you explain why with a brief short description, I will pick the best one and publish it along with the pick!

*For mods: This is not spam. I am just trying to get the right fans to vote for their respective team. We have done this already with most NFL team forums and have not had any issues. If you have any problems, please let me know.

You need a "None of the above/Trade down" option on your poll.

I went for Aldon Smith.

Passrusher is bigger need than DE.

Can't man, we would have to find a team willing to trade up which would be impossible since we only do one team per day, and the logistics behind getting two forums to agree to a trade would be very complicated.

In any event, Cam Jordan leads the votes, with Ryan Kerrigan in second.

Would anyone like to do a short 3-sentence write-up for Cam Jordan?

Alright guys the pick is in, your results are updated. You can see who your team selected here:

Check out the comments I made about your team in the On the Clock section.

And feel free to bookmark that page and continue voting daily. We will do one team every day.

Yeah, I wasn't at all suggesting working out an actual trade.

You're presenting a limited selection of prospects, for whatever reason, and that's fine. However, if you also offer a "none of the above/we'd rather trade down" option and it gets a significant percentage of the votes, it should tell you something about fan preferences wrt the prospects in your selection list. As it stands, without us knowing who's been taken so far and who else (not on your list) might be available later, you may be getting a lot of folks voting on the basis of "well, if that's ALL I have to chose from, I suppose I'd take...." which might actually be their second or third choice at that position.

Whether that's something you might want to add all depends on what you're attempting to learn from this.

Oh just click on draft results to see how the earlier selections have panned out.

So far we`ve finished the first 16 teams, and those were the best available options based on who was already taken.

Well, there's the thing - "best available options" according to who? There's a fairly large contingent on this board (and the ESPN Patriots blog) who'd most definitely prefer Heyward or Wilkerson at DE for the Pats - but they're not among your options, so, you get the majority of the votes going for Cameron Jordan, even though he may not really be close to the majority first choice. With a "none of the above/trade down" option, you'd at least be giving those folks a chance to register something in your poll without "forcing" them to take Jordan at DE.

Again, it depends on what your purpose is.

After a little DFlo research, DFlo joined PatsFans on March 7. On March 8, DFlo submitted 47 posts in 1 hour 48 minutes that got him to the threshold to start his own threads.....then the "interactive mocks" directing viewers to his site begin.
So please stop the the "not spam" BS....because you joined here with a purpose.

Here's DFlo's post history

Good point. It's one of the inherent flaws of the interactive mock. Here's what the problem is, if I add another 5-6 defensive ends to the options of the poll for completion sake then noone will complain about their guy not being there. At the same time, theres two problems with this:

1. It will lead to less voting - a poll with about 6 options is much more readable and more likely to have participation that one with 12 options.

2. More importantly, if I add more DE's then it will dilute the vote of DE's. So for instance if 36 voted for Jordan - and now I add Wilkerson and Heyward then it's going to dilute the DE vote and you may have say 12 votes for each Heyward, Wilkerson, and Jordan - which would skew the results and have Kerrigan win.

It's something I struggled with for the earlier votes, and you're right there is no real way around it. But what it comes down to is the fact that I strongly believe Heyward and Wilkerson would not have won the vote count with this pick and would have only diluted the vote for DEs. They are more likely candidates for the 28th overall pick but I really don't believe they would have won.

If you look at the 'Previous Interactive Mock' section where we ran this for the first time around, I had many more options for most of the votes and it didn't really change anything.

Hope this helps man, but I do get where you are coming from.

Hey borg, it's people like you who make doing this really frustrating at times.

First of all, NO, I don't consider this to be spam. There are absolutely NO ads on the website, and I don't make a single cent from doing this. I wake up every morning and the first thing I do is update the results and move to the next team. All for the sake of creating good discussion and getting fans to interact and have to think about certain draft scenarios. Most people, and forums, have absolutely no problem with this and think it's a unique way to participate and have a say in their team's draft process.

Look at some of the discussion it created in these forums during the first run:

17th pick, patsfans forum

28th pick, patsfans forums

Where even mods participated. The two posts generated 7 pages of discussion total. It also generated a lot of debate and got Pats fans talking.

Secondly, the bookmark the page and keep voting is there to remind people that they can tune in every day and see who other teams are voting for, and even vote with them if they want.

It's not spam, I'm not asking for money, and I'm not making any money. I'm doing this because people think its interesting and it's a good way to get some good draft debate going.

And when people like you come by and feel the need to try to ruin something like this that I've worked on for the past 40 + days it makes it very frustrating. Not only that, but your need to go out of your way to do it is quite annoying..

Yeah, I understand the constraints and the unavoidibility of being arbitrary in one way or another. I was suggesting the "none of the above" (maybe "other" would be better) actually thinking of it as an alternative to adding a slew of other candidates or trying to implement some sort of "instant run-off" type system, especially if you're running a series of these, since it might help fine tune successive polls. (an "instant run-off" poll would be very cool, though, wouldn't it?).

Anyway, I believe there's a significant percentage of Pats fans (not necessarily a majority, but possibly close to 50%) who actually might even be willing, with the option of trading down off the board, to take Heyward over Jordan at #17. I can only speak to what I've read on Pats fan boards, but I don't think it's unreasonable to project that the fan base of another team or two (or even several) might face a similar conundrum, especially the later it gets in round one.

"This is not spam....but hey, bookmark our site and check in to see the results"

First time I've been to their site, but it's actually pretty valuable if for no other reason than they have easy to read (or copypasta) charts of Combine results including arm length and hand size (which all the other charts I've found leave out). The only thing they're missing is 10-yd splits (which everybody else omits, too).

Also, it's difficult to find fault in a site that ranks TWO of the Pats 2010 picks among the top ten overall in that draft (McCourty and Gronkowski).

Lets be honest chief, you've launched a website and your trying to get traffic. Someday you will attempt to turn a profit. Please spare the "from the goodnesss from my heart" BS. You joined PatsFans and got your minimum posts out of the way in under two hours and immediately began directing traffic to your start up. I guess you were just enthusiastic to "share".

Because commercialism and trying to provide a better value to fans are always mutually-exclusive propositions?

Question...does your boss lay out the stategy, get to a fan site and post in obscure threads so as not to draw attention to yourself? Your Charlie Sheen discourse was captivating

Because commercialism and trying to provide a better value to fans are always mutually-exclusive propositions?

So this guy should get a free ride while the other advertisers on this site pay up?

As Ian has a handy little bat signal button for the mods in each post, it's easy enough to bring official notice to the issue if you are concerned.

I'm not offended, the mocks generated have led to some interesting discussion here, and I get diverted or there are attempts to divert me to other sites all the time ... this was at least engaging for Patsfans.

So let every draft website set up shop here as well. By the way, this guy has flooded fan sites for every team with the same cut and paste schtick.
