Injury practice update: Gronk present, Hightower absent

That's a straw man.
If he isn't healthy enough to play he shouldn't. If he is he should.

Same as any player.

Its not that simple.

If he is injured and the medical staff believes it to be probable that if he plays in game it will worsen, then you don't play him Week 2. If it's the AFCCG or the SB then that is a different ball of wax.

Same as any player. That's my point.

Just my feeling, nothing to base it on but I think Gronk is going to miss the 1st third of the season. How do you guys feel?

I don't think we will see Gronk until Brady gets back in week 5, and im good with that. He wont play this weekend, then week 3 vs Texans is a short week, wont suit up either Im assuming. Week 4 Vs Buffalo might as well give another week off and have a triumphant return of Brady & Gronk.

If DH is out sunday he will be out Thursday as well..same for Gronk is my guess

I think Gronk Plays Thursday it wouldn't be a short week for him since he hasn't played like forever.

Looks like Hightower is out for this one. Missed again.

Although seems like Solder will play, not based on a practice report but based on a soundbite they played on 98.5 where he said he is looking forward to get out there Sunday.

The whole "Gronk is using this injury as leverage for Gronk Inc" is noting more than media crap. This entire week, every time I check Felger, he going on either about the "Gronk injury, wink wink", or that Bellichick cost the Pats a superbowl because of his stupid strategy in Miami last season.

They all point to the fact that the initial injury happened a month ago, and then conveniently forget to mention that it was reported that he re-injured it doing rehab work 2 weeks ago. Just more and more of our local (because Felger isn't the ONLY one using this cynical click baiting tactic) TROLLING

It really pisses me off that Gronk and the Pats have to defend themselves publicly against speculation these idiots KNOW isn't true.

With all due respect, Ken, I think that you are making a mistake there. If you run after the clowns on sports radio, you shouldn't complain -- of course, you'll end up angry. Gronk and the Pats DON'T "have to defend themselves publicly" against speculation from these maroons -- they treat it with the contempt it deserves. We should all do the same.

Kinda think Gronk will be back with TB and Nink in October. What's the rush?

There is a rush if he doesn't play next week and the offense sputters.

Eric Rowe was absent from practice too.

Looks less and less like it will be a 3rd round pick to the Eagles.

He could be practicing because he's testing the leg.
He could be practicing because he's expecting to play.
He could be practicing just to make Miami game plan for him.
He could be practicing because he knows he isn't playing but wants to practice what he can (blocking, timing).
None of us know, and won't know, until game time, and even then our knowledge will be limited.

Just as in past years, September is the Pats real preseason....if anyone is dinged in anyway, they take the opportunity to develop their depth

if the pats keep winning with a sizeable chunk of their roster missing, it only helps the long term

I'm not going to label Hightowah injury prone because he doesn't stay longer periods inactive but he seems to have a knack for these minor injuries that keeps him absent a couple games and limits him to reach his 100%. I wonder if this somehow will affect his market value and if the Pats can take advantage of it.

There is a rush if he doesn't play next week and the offense sputters.

And if he tweaks something due to him being rushed, the offense will sputter regardless.

Has Cooper been practicing?

Has Cooper been practicing?

The one post mentioned he was limited..

I was wondering about Cooper and Solder myself. I think that the decision on Solder will have the biggest impact on the game..

My "guess" is that if Solder or Cooper play this week it will be limited similar to how Mason was last week. Apples to oranges I know, but my guess.
