The Ravens got their wishes. They no longer have to be able to correctly read a formation, or just listen on the god damn ref that stands there and points on the ineligible receiver like a special aids teacher trying to get a special needs kid to pick up the right toy from the ground. The ineligible receiver formations that the Patriots used in the AFC divisional playoffs is now illegal. Unfortunately for the Ravens, they have not been able to make murdering, domestic abuse, or DUIs legal.

NFL owners have passed the rule proposal banning the use of ineligible receivers like the Patriots did in the AFC divisional playoffs.

If you're stupid, outlaw intelligence...

It's a Faustian deal with the devil.

"I want to be the greatest piano player in the world!"

"Granted! I have now made everyone one else on Earth physically incapable of playing the piano at all."

The moment Mara's words were made public, the outcome was assured.

The refs can't even remember the rules they already have. This one probably runs a couple of pages just by itself....

Why do I think that the Pats are going to start the season with a WR wearing an tackle number? Maybe Amendola listed as a tackle....

This is really ridiculous

So if im not mistaken, that eliminates most fake punts correct?

I don't care either way if the rules get changed, but it strikes me as funny that the Patriots exploited a rule legally but now no other team has the option of being creative like the Patriots because the practice has been outlawed.

I doubted that the Patriots would employ this procedure too often in the upcoming season so it really handicaps the rest of the League going forward... the Patriots have already benefited by it. I don't think this handicaps the Patriots as much as the Ravens or others think.

Imagine having your way by springing a surprise on the opposition when the season is on the line and slipping away, obtaining an advantage at a crucial juncture and wrestling the game back and then after making hay while the sun shines, the same practice is made illegal later so that the others can't exploit it. I am sure some of the more creative offensive minds in the League would not have minded doing something similar this upcoming season.
