Patriots announce that RB Brandon Bolden, WR Aaron Dobson, S Nate Ebner, TE Rob Gronkowski & S Duron Harmon are out for Sunday's opener.

One more to go.

Shame about Dobson Hope my thought of him being red shirted in the way Vereen was doesn't turn out to be the case.

Guessing the last inactive will be Chris White.

no Amendola on that list?

some fans are going to be really, really shocked

I guess with Harmon being inactive, the Pats are really banking on Tavon Wilson holding down the fort as the 3rd safety..

*shudders*

Some here are going to be really, really pissed...

The last should be Chris Barker. If he were ready, Kline wouldn't have been activated. We have our 7 OL's: the 6 starters (including both Cannon and Connolly) and Kline.

I don't want to overreact when the guy has a hamstring issue, but I wonder if Dobson will be the latest redshirt to come through New England. He obviously has talent, but also needs some development, particularly when it comes to strength.

In this offense, Amendola will be the #1 option, and Gronkowski will be the #2 when he gets back. After that (assuming the Pats operate out of a 3WR set), Thompkins could likely be the #3 and Edelman the #4. Sudfeld will certainly factor in as well, in addition to the RBs.

Over the final few weeks it seemed as though Josh Boyce had jumped Dobson on the depth chart, and this move could reflect it. Coming out of college, Boyce was actually considered the superior prospect (that many overlook) but fell because of his injury. Dobson was projected as a 3rd-4th rounded because of his raw nature.

Anyway, if the other receivers stay mostly healthy, Dobson and Boyce weren't going to get much playing time to begin with. They would be sprinkled into the offense.

With Ebner, Harmon and Bolden out, we can use White as a special teamer. He is supposed to be a good one.

OH! OH! OHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Dobson is disappointing, we really need this kid to step up, and we would be in a dire if not for the emergence of Thompkins.

I would expect either Kline or Barker to be the final inactive.

I'm fine with Edelman as the 3rd WR for now. Hopefully come december boyce or dobson is readdy to handle it.

disappointed with dobson but more worried about Harmon being out. We need secondary depth. But this is typical of BB. He is usually very cautious with players early in the season.

"The latest"? Wouldn't that be "the first"?

(Annual public service announcement: "stashing" rookies on IR is a myth. It never happens.)

I don't think he will be. I think it's just a case that he was limited this week and all the other WR had full participation. (Amendola did have full participation on Friday)

He will be fine; he showed some solid improvements over the last 2 weeks of the preseason, I am more concerned with Ryan and Cole being the depth at CB.

If he doesn't catch 9 balls for 69 yds or more............ this board will explode on Monday.

Ryan showed more promise during the preseason than Wilson did. Guy was out there holding his own against Vincent Jackson and Hakeem Nicks.

I agree--very small sample but I thought Ryan showed steady improvement, while Dobson leveled off.

Ugh, Dobson out. With a hammy of all things. That really sucks.
