I'm disgusted to be a Patriots fan today

It's only one disastrous game. The Pats will contend for the division but only if the defense improves and the injured players return. This may be a good omen if what happens after the last Buffalo loss happens again.

I too am disgusted by this. And it is clearly a symptom of being spoiled over the past decade. We as a "sports town" have witnessed something very bizarre in that our four major sports teams have all won a championship in a single decade( three of them doing so multiple times) It has truly been a wonderful roller coaster ride for a sports fan and we should grateful for the fact that we have had soooo many more "ups" than any other sports region has had over the last ten years. It truly saddens me that a few of my fellow patriots fans are calling for the coach I love to be fired or resign after ONE tough loss to a divisional opponent. Let's remind ourselves that NO team other than the 2007 Patriots (coached by the very same man you want gone) have gone through a 16 game regular season without losing at least ONE game! Yes it was a tough loss. Yes, it was a totally embarrassing collapse. Yes, it was painful to watch, especially since we all expect so much better from our boys. But please ask yourself what teams don't go through this every once in a while. Hell look at Pittsburgh in week one- an embarrassing game against a divisional opponent. **** happens people! Now ask yourself what coach has given their fan base more joy in the last ten years than Mr. Belichick. I'm gonna stick with him and this team and enjoy them giving the beat down to OAK next week in what will surely be a redemption game. Go PATS!!!!

I am mainly speaking to the ones losing all in faith in this team based on this game. I understand the vast majority don't feel this way.

I think you have invented issues here. No body has asked for BB to be fired, to my knowledge.

The Patriots obviously have fans spoiled. Sadly they can't win every game or be perfect. As a YANKEES fan also, I understand! You expect to be at the top when you feel you have the best team or players. Sometimes the best doesn't win or play well to win a championship!

I am with you. I think SB 42 broke something in me because I have never been so devastated after a loss and everything since has paled for me. I didn't have to give myself a pep talk, I just think something broke that day and I just can't get as worked up again.

I don't even agree that a SB win would make up for that season, as I've seen posted. Nothing will ever make up for it. Ever.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Like you, something in my inner fan died that day and I don't get as excited about the wins or sad about the losses anymore.

The Patriots defense has been bad. The Patriots just lost to a team that's been their ***** for the better part of a decade. The Patriots once again demonstrated that they can't overcome a subpar performance by Brady. The Patriots are having the same problems with pressure and coverage that were so much an issue last season. The people who AREN'T bothered are the ones we should be worrying about.

It seems to me that throwing a little grief their way is what fans should be doing. This sort of game may be acceptable to the Bengals, but it shouldn't be acceptable to the Patriots or to Patriots fans.

Hard to see a rational way to be a fan of the Pats and the Yankees. Not really a credit to your gender...

This team has serious issues, no doubt. For the life of me, I will never understand why Meriweather and Sanders were cut: it's week 3, and I think we can already call the great Josh Barrett experiment a failure. Cutting those guys made no sense to me at the time, and it still makes no sense to me know. Chung hasn't exactly been an iron man back there, either: you pretty much have to plan on him missing a few games to injury, and apparently the Pats didn't.

I'm fine with some criticism of the team. I'll even agree with it, when it comes from a rational place. But very little of the content on this board over the last 24 hours has come from a rational place.

I guess bandwagon-hopping is pretty rational, in a sense.

I think 19-0 might do it. Maybe. Even then I'd still feel bad that guys like Moss and Seau didn't get to be a part of it, but it would really be something else. I dunno though, you're probably right.

There was a resignation comment in the "has the NFL passed BB bye threa" and multiple customers at work today mentioned it. Just needed to vent some frustration and decided to do it here after I read/heard so many ludicrous comments today.
