I'm never really gone guys....coming back again with the slight possibility of another Broncos-Patriots rematch in the playoffs. And as normal, not here to cause ANY trouble whatsoever.

Looks like you guys will be the fourth seed, and if we beat Cincy at home next week, and San Fran the week after, we'll be the fifth seed and we'll meet in Foxboro again.

I'll be honest, the fact that we play in Foxboro again worries me. Playing the Patriots again, as normal, does not.

Read the whole post before commenting, because I don't really feel like replying to the "Yeah right the Broncos suck now we'll beat them easily." If you don't have any justification to your post, I don't really want to read it.

As always, I'm not here to cause any trouble, just looking for some knowledgeable fans to talk football with.

I'd like to mention one thing about the Broncos now, that, seeing their 8-6 record and seeing them come off a four game losing streak may not show.

We are indeed a better team with Cutler starting then Plummer. By a lot, already. Don't believe me? Just look at his FIRST pass from yesterday's game vs. Arizona. And then try to tell me Plummer could do that

Aside from being better at QB now that Cutler's seems to be settled in than when we played you last, our O-Line has been completely demolished. Losing Matt Lepsis for the year has absolutely killed our running game and pass protection, and we're a much worse team because of it.

That being said, mixing Mike and Tatum Bell, occasionally with Cecil Sapp (Who's also out for the year) had worked pretty well. We can still get a decent running game going, but not nearly as good as we could before.

At WR, we're much improved from last time. Aside from having a QB who can consistently get it to the WRs now, Brandon Marshall has emerged as a great threat at the slot, mainly because he's tall, fast, and has good hands.

There's still no point in trying to throw at Bailey, as Leinart learned last week (He said he wasn't afraid to challenge Champ, and threw 2 INTs), but Darrent Williams has proven he can easily be picked on. Yesterday though, he was deactivated with a toe injury, and Dominique Foxworth played MUCH better.

D-Line is still pathetic, and LBs are still one of the best units in the game.

Special Teams is the worst part of our game, and believe me when I say that.
We had one return to I believe Arizona's 37, by far our longest of the year yesterday. Other than that, we're last in average starting field position, our guys can't tackle or block depending on which side their on, and we commit way to many penalties.

In some ways we're better than when we played last, and in others we're worse, and I'm sure you guys can say the same about yourselves.

I STILL think we match-up really well against you guys, especially if Cutler gets into a rhythm and makes the throws he made last game.

I'd feel a lot more confident about our chances if we do happen to meet if they were in Denver, and it'd be a shock to me if we advance past the first round just because we're sort of rebuilding. But it's a quick re-build, and I think next year we'll be right back in the SB hunt.

I wouldn't go as far as saying we could beat you guys in Foxboro if we played again in the playoffs at the stage we are now, but if Cutler has another good game, and we beat Cincy, I wouldn't completely rule it out....after all...the last 6 times we've played, we've won 5 of them.

Thoughts and opinions are welcomed....

Gosh I hate the idea of seeing the Broncos again this season. I think they're the only team that can honestly say they own us. Jay Cutler is a huge upgrade from Plummer. We still have the same problem we had when we faced Denver this year while Broncos has improved.

Please Cincy, beat the Colts and Broncos... please.

No offense; you seem like a reasonable fan looking to talk football, but here are my thoughts:

1. I don't even want to think about the playoffs until we see how we play these last two weeks, esp. considering that it is highly unlikely we could get a 1st round bye;

2. I hope you guys lose your last two games and don't make the playoffs.

Greetings Tatum,

Brandon Marshall was on my wish list after watching him play two games in Hawaii, the second being the Hula Bowl. I'm glad the kid is working out, though I hate the fact it's on your club!

Cutler may be an upgrade on Snake, but the bad news for him, should the Pats and Broncos meet in the playoffs, is BB has enough game tape to get a feel for his play - rookies aren't strong performers in the playoffs as it is...

I give Cincy a good chance to beat your lads at home this weekend, though if they come up with a game plan as empty-headed as the one they handed Indy last night you've got a cake walk scheduled. I'll forego any playoff predictions until the entire picture is settled.

I haven't been that interested in watching Bronco games, though I did see that bomb Cutler threw to Walker, a pretty pass, though having it out for DBs to see what kind of challenge he can give them will help opposing DBs wake up a little - still, I don't expect Pats safeties to let opposing WRs get behind them, BB frowns on such errors.

If you have the Bells you have a run game regardless of the O-line - not that I will ever have any fondness for your O-line with their Alex Gibbs heritage. I have the tape of last year's regular season game showing your RG chop blocking one of my favorite players on the team (not cut blocking which I have no problem with, an actual by definition chop block). The Bill Polian whine-a-thon committee would be doing the game a great service if they made chop-block enforcement a point of emphasis - instead they wrap the QB and WRs in cocoons and penalize for looking at them cross-eyed.

from what i have seen double covering walker especially playing a deeper safety and matching a faster LB on the TE playes has not been implemented against him for some reason.
The key is the TE , i would like a team to jab him or force him to stay back in coverrage or cover him with a LB or send a OLB like colvin as he is fast enough to hang with him.

seems like i can am shocked as not 1 defence is taking away his fav target the TE rookie.

I do not think he will last longer with the TE valve off and good coverage on walker, he is going to have trouble. Also, from what i have seen which is little he has more chance of going the grossman way.His taking care of the ball attitude is bit lacking.Either a QB is very ball protective or not its something you develop from a young age and he does not have it.From what i have seen the gold standard for qb for the 2006 draft is leinhart.

2. I hope you guys lose your last two games and don't make the playoffs.

What she said. I hate that ever-constipated look on Shanahan's face. He and the Baltimore Colts-killer, Elway, stabbed Dan Reeves in the back. Pat Bowlen cheated the salary cap in order to win his 2 illegitimate SBs. He apparently also cheated his fellow co-owners, too.

Otherwise, good luck to your donkeys.

it seemed like Plummer usually played well against the Pats. He wasn't great but he wasn't shoveling the ball to defenders. I'll happily take the switch to a rookie.

Here's hoping Cinci has a bounce-back game against Denver.

Whenever i think about the pats facing the broncos i get a nervous feeling inside. Its the way the denver defense plays agianst us, like they have our play book, and there studying it. This season if it happens, i dont think cutler has it in him to beat us, if the patriots can improve there pass rush. Yes cutler did have a good game this week, and i think he will be with the broncs for a long time and have success there, but only playing a few games i think he has things he needs to learn. The broncs only chance would be defensively. Keeping a low scoring game so cutler dosent have to score 28 points to win.

If you regard the Pats as True Champions then they need to kill the Denver boogeyman.

The only time in the Brady era we beat the Broncs.. Is when Danny Kannell was starting..

Plummer's mobility gave Denver a clear advantage on our D. Cutler is in many ways better than Jake, but he is a traditional pocket passer and Denver's o-line has been decimated by injury, so our pass rush should produce sacks rather than just flush the QB out of the pocket.

I'd look forward to playing the Broncos in the playoffs at foxboro. (The only way to slay a myth is to destroy it.)

Denver created a great record by
a) having a consistently better team than the Patriots for the whole Elway era

b) playing the Pats at home a way disproportionate amount of the time, a problem created by the schedulers.

c) Facing the banged-up Patriots either when the couldn't run (last season playoffs) and when they couldn't pass, (early in the Branch mischief). Once again luck of the draw, provided by the schedulers.

Shanahan has thrown in the towel on this season. If they do back into the playoffs it won't be for long. Good coaches know that sometimes you have to take one step back, before taking two steps forward. Snake had gone as far has he was going to go.

Yep - we're the Bronc's *****es... and if the Patriots players don't like that, all they have to do is beat them...

let's just hope that the rash of turnovers that started with the Broncs in the playoffs last year ended with the game in Houston

I want the Patriots to whoop up on the Jaguars this weekend. That's all I care about right now.

Actually, quite surprisingly, Cutler has been very mobile thus far.

I had heard that he wasn't immobile and would move around if he needed to, but he has rushed for I think around 40 yards in his first 3 games, including a few good moves to elude defenders and get a first down (Not that you could possibly count on him to pick up the first down running consistently.)

So while he isn't as fast as Plummer, he can move around if he needs to AND is a better pocket passer.

People questioned Shanny for this move....very few of them were Bronco fans though. The way Plummer had played he was playing worse than a rookie QB would. And playoff contention or not, if your QB is playing just like, or worse than a rookie, it's time to get the rookie some experience, so hopefully, next year he'll be comfortable starting.

Both teams have a long way to go the next 2 weeks. Each could easily lose at least 1 game. I don't think either team has shown championship quality. But that could change quickly with these coaches, who are the 2 best.

Let's assume both teams play real well the next 2 weeks and give us something to get excited about. In that case, while Denver is not a team we like to see, this time the circumstances would probably favor NE. Cutler won't be ready for a January playoff game in Foxboro aginst a Belichik defense, and the Pats will take away the run like they did in last year's playoff game.

I don't know if the issue would be whether he's ready or not, but more of whether the broncos could possibly play a complete enough game against the crowd to win the game. He may be ready for the game physically, making the throws, but mentally, in Foxboro in the playoffs could be completely different.
