If you were Andrew Luck would you....

He'd be foolish to go back to school. Just ask Jake Locker. The guy cost himself millions and millions of dollars. Luck can always go back to school after his NFL career is over. If you're the clear cut consensus #1 pick you almost have to go.

Yes, and Sarah Palin refudiated it, too.

To who? Our North Korean allies? :singing:

But yeah, back on-topic. There will probably be a rookie cap, but probably not in 2011. Nothing is definitive until the CBA is done, and no one knows when that'll be. But if it's not done quickly, it would be very tough to implement that rookie cap in 2011.

I believe Goodall refuted that.

Goodell can "refute" it all he wants, the kids from this rookie class will be subject to the rules set up in the new CBA. The only way they don't have a rookie cap is if the league, stupidly, sets it up that the Rookie cap doesn't start until 2012 or if the league decides to proceed with the CBA based on the 2010 rules.

Why would it be tough? As of the day after the SB, the CBA is nonexistent other than for the purpose of the Draft. Implementing a rookie cap wouldn't be hard at all.. In fact, it would actually be easy since they have a clean slate to work with and it's just a matter of getting the CBA done and signed.

The league has already had in place a "rookie cap" or the maximum amount a franchise could spend on rookie contracts. It varied from team to team and is commonly called the "rookie salary pool". The total of all rookie caps equalled the league's "Entering Player Pool". What they'll have next year is a rookie "wage scale" to free up cash for the vets...which means more cash to sign Mankins if they can have a meeting of the minds.

I'm down for it.

Oddly enough Db, the 2011 draft is covered by the expiring CBA, which I understand is the reason there is a 2011 draft and 2012 was up in the air. Good or Bad-all may just be correct in this instance. And if Sarah Palin is refudiating it too I'm just jiggy with it all (who could doubt the sources of our wild New York via New Hampshire rose? The thorny little leprechaun.).
