Heading into yesterday, I think I was settling in on landing the #1 pick and trading down to #3 or 4 to take Abdul Carter as my #1 scenario, though open to the idea of Hunter too.
Well, we won't get the extra picks for moving back, but feels like we're in good position to land one of Carter or Hunter if we assume 2 QBs go before us, which seems likely.
Team has to absolutely nail this top pick though, whoever is making it. They need to do more than just hit the top pick and nothing else (which was the case last year) but they're in desperate need of blue chip talents and you can't **** up the #4 pick. I'm a bit hesitant on the uniqueness of Hunter for that reason, but I also don't pretend to be a scout or master talent evaluator. I think I'd probably lean Carter based on a more traditional projection, but that's honestly more of a cop out than me having any sort of scouting chops or making an informed decision.
Still not opposed to the idea of moving back if they think they can land a blue chip talent, but seems unlikely based on where they are now and the lack of a QB to entice teams to move up. Not to mention how limited the number of "blue chip talents" is in any draft. We absolutely have to prioritize landing one.
