Idle Thoughts, Where is Patfanken?

I first started reading his stuff on asfpnep roughly 20 years ago. During the glory days of Pio Sagapouletele and Devin Wyman and having your offensive lineman try to crowd surf at concerts by jumping onto 80 pound women.

While Bob Jensen terrorized us all there was kthaler to bring his list of points. Didn't always agree but always found them a fun read back then and I still do to this day.

And rookie wide receivers wrecking their new sports car at halftime.....

And Zeke Mowat.

And linemen playing catch with Buck knives, and one of them getting caught in a player's chest.

classic Bob Jensen - "bowling ball w/ knives"
I remember kthaler - did not know PFK was one in the same.

Don't blame Ian...blame THIS guy------------------------------>

everyone knows it's all his fault anyway....

Off topic as it pertains to Ken (obviously hope that we hear from him very soon), but things have got to suck at the moment for DA.

Whether or not he'll ever come close to earning his keep on that big payday, we definitely know that he's much better than his current stats/targets are suggesting. It's got to be frustrating as hell. Just look at that mug in the picture.

I'm actually concerned about ken, this is unlike him imo.

Same here. He's not the youngest, and since I think he's retired, I doubt he just got busy at work.

It does seem a bit odd that his profile states that he logged in last night around 9:00pm, and yet he didn't respond to this thread, or any others for that matter.

I wonder if his homepage isn't set for patsfans.com, like someone else mentioned, and maybe someone used the computer at his home?

Let's hope for some good news very soon. Ken is a staple of this forum.

I once took several months off from posting here. I can't imagine what you guys went through. I'm sorry.

In all seriousness, I hope Ken is doing well. Idle Thoughts is the most interesting sports writing out there; not some PFT, SI, Globe or SBNation make believe crap for clicks.

True that. Idle Thoughts might be in my Top 3 post-weekend reads. As others have said, I don't always agree, but it's hard to argue that it's not top notch.

Maybe he's working on a fee-based model now.

Does anyone on this MB have contact with him o hius family in RL?
It may be worth a phone call or email to him.....

Hope all is well with him....

Always enjoy his analysis and musings on the Pats......

I just texted him. I'm in Europe with limp Internet access. I'll let you know

Well, that explains your absence over on my FB wall.

Have fun and enjoy the cultcha.

Ken hasn't been heard from in a week.

Roger Goodell hasn't been heard from in a week.

Draw your own conclusions ...

That's like inferring Cate Blanchett and Miley Cyrus are the same person.

Say what? Patfanken is Kthaler of the old ASFPNEP usenet group? Really??? I had no idea. Did Tollbooth Bobby end up at Jets Insider too? Ah, those were the days...

We'll solve this through the power of deduction!

PatFanKen, also referred to in shorthand as PFK.

PFK, phonetically, sounds like Piffic.

Piffic may be shorthand of Pifflicated, which Google tells me is a slang term for drunk.

It's fairly obvious that PatFanKen is currently drunk. He'll get back to us when he sobers up.

Still no one has heard from Ken?

I'm a little uneasy too.

Really miss Ken's analysis. His absence is even making a confirmed lurker like me post something.

Hope he pops up soon.

I wish this guy would hurry up and post.
