Very nicely done.. enjoyed reading it.

I agree with you on the pick, initially it was a WTF moment ( which I predicted) ... but it makes more sense as time goes on.
 
Great analysis on the "immediate impact" part of the story, by the way.

And you don't even have to assume shorttermitis. A pick who can contribute immediately is, ceteris paribus, a better value over the lifetime of his contract than one who takes time to develop.
