I honestly think that he initially may not have realized it was THE Tom Brady, and not just some other guy with that name. Or it may be that he was just quipping. There just is no way that someone this dedicated to his own sport doesn't hear or know about another person equally as dedicated to another sport.

Tom Brady is a relatively generic name and Ichiro got a text from him out of nowhere, he asked somebody who this Tom Brady guy was who was texting him. I don't really know why this is news. If you got a text from someone named Michael Jordan, you probably wouldn't think "oh, it's NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan."

I once got text from Jesus. He was upset because I missed the appointment . Obviously I asked him for his forgiveness. He did . It saved me from a double payment.
