I don't want to get in trouble here, but this is readily available on the internet. Let me know and I'll post it (or not).

I think this is a NO brainer...NOT a good idea...at all!!!

What is it with people? It's one thing to talk trash on a guy but why would you even want to set someone up for nasty phonecalls, some probably threatening. This coming from a man who will rip into anyone who puts up a post that doesn't meet his guidelines.

I wouldn't do it.. Just a quick story I posted someones name and number as a joke (just pulled it off www.bigyellow.com) and was banned for 3 days.. Still trying to figure that one out, since its public info.. A slap on the wrist would have been the better move..

Until I purchase the domain and buy the buildings the admins live in, I'll follow their rules <- joke!! don't ban me again heheheheh..

well reiss just stated the name of the agency he works for and I am sure a simple google search would return the results. I don't know how listing a business phone number on a messageboard is an issue. Just my 0.2 cents.

Just a wild guess, but I imagine if this person does get harrassing and threatening phone calls, Ian doesn't want to be any part of it. If someone feels the urge to be a jacka$$ they can find the number themselves. There's no reason for someone who doesn't have the balls to call the person himself to post the number then dare everyone else to call him.

yikes, I'm trying to be responsible and then get SLAMMED by Huskeralk? My stress must be getting to me to have become such a villain around here.

I don't really care about posting the guy's number, but I was trying to do the right thing by Ian in asking. No big deal.

Per Ian's policy "Posting personal information (phone #'s and addresses, regardless of whether or not it's public) is forbidden in the forum and will result in an immediate 3-day suspension."

I've already deleted Chayut's phone number from this board three times before Miguel's reminder that a suspension was required.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll have a complete change of heart if we just call him.

If its public information, then I don't see what the big deal is. Not that I'm for anyone getting verbal abuse, but it's still a free country and everyone is entitled to an opinion right? I think it’s kind of funny. A site I check out all the time "http://www.buddyhead.com/gossip/" posts private numbers of celebrities and artists all the time. I find it humorous when they do it.

I wasn't necessarily slamming you, just any person that has done it in the past. You made the right decision by not posting it.

I understand that thinking. I was looking at it more from a liability perspective. I don't understand how anyone could be held liable for something posted on a public messageboard that they facilitate. It goes beyond just this situation and touches upon the sully situation. To me holding Ian responsible for a thread on here would be the equivilent of holding an owner of a public restaurant guilty of a crime planned out over lunch at one of his tables.

It's a free country but a private forum. It may not be against the law, but still against the rules.

I just threw in my two cents about it... since there wasn't any posts to it...Better to have asked before you did...while I don't like the guy..I still think posting it would be out of bounds..

Well put and I sure don't have the coin to shell out for the bandwidth.

There's a lot of posturing and misunderstanding about "public information." We're not talking about, say, government documents. We're talking about fundamentally private information that is made accessible so that people with a legitimate interest can contact the individual. Unless we reading this are journalists looking for an interview--or team execs who'd like to offer Deion $40 million--chances are our interests in Chayut's phone # aren't legitimate. The only reason to post the information on this forum is to incite harrassment. You might think it's funny, but the poor receptionist in Chayut's office probably doesn't.

(BTW, you should ask the former employees of Enron about "public information." Tons of them had their email archives publicly released because they happened to communicate with someone else under investigation. So now their musings about topics like "what to do about my crazy mother-in-law" are now public information. Public, private, it's all relative.)

Yeah!

Let's call and heckle a seemingly over-aggressive egotistical lawyer!!!.

While we're at it, why don't we run around with scissors in our hands or better yet, tease a pitbull with a hot poker.

I like the idea.
