I was trying to defend Lowe a little last week because it appears he's our starting LT. But last night was as bad as last year.

I might have been wrong about him having improved. It appears to be completely default as no one else can play on the left side.

We have enough decent guards but none of them seem very good as back up centers. And I'm not even sure using Onwenwu at tackle helps much because he plays RT too.

We desperately need a LT and backup center.

Mafi and Lowe have no business in the NFL both are Big for nothing. Both playing with the third string deep into the game is very telling. How they both have a back up plan after Football.

The most discouraging thing was watching Sow struggle every bit as much in week 1 but then steadily improve from there while Mafi was the same guy all season and looks like the same guy now.

I hope Maye works out and becomes a solid player. I totally get why the team wants to jump onto the bandwagon and get what they think is the right QB.

But I was of the mind that NE should’ve gone OL heavily in 2024. And I really want the team to invest heavily in 2025, as I fear we’re in for a ride at OL this season….

Whatever OL was in the last few series was a total mess. I know it included mafi. He should be a goner, hopefully.

Until then i honestly wasn’t that low on the OL. Then again based off this weeks reports i was going in expecting to see something like the 2015 afccg. Only recall a few bad breakdowns until that last unit came in. Problem mainly seemed to be the wr’s and brissett for the first quarter. Lowe and chuks should be on a short leash though

I have to believe they thought that one of the 4 Tackles that went in the back of the 2nd would be there at their 3rd pick....they just didn't, or couldn't, react to the run and move up. By they time they got to their 3rd rd pick all of the Left Tackles were gone.

Top 5-6 IOL's : Sow, Andrews, Onwenu, Robinson, Leverett, Jordan

Mafi is terrible, especially where we need help: backup center. Mafi is simply on the outside looking in.

I have IOL FA1 and IOL FA2 both ahead of Mafi.
