I think Tom is serious about playing til 45, though he did say "hopefully"

I agree. Brady is still playing like the GOAT. You don't trade the GOAT when he's playing like that still.
I would love to get the Browns TWO first round picks for him in the next draft... Then we would have three first round picks. The Browns higher pick could be near the very top. I could see Belichick trading that pick for another teams first and a second. Then end up with three first round picks and two second round picks.

IMO it's all about the unpredictable future of injuries. Brady has devoted himself so completely to health, fitness and flexibility that I don't expect basic age-related decline to force him to retire for some years yet.

But the body doesn't recover from injury at age 40 the same way as at 25. So I'm crossing all my fingers, and will attempt to cross some toes, too.

This is true. It's one of the reasons why the offensive line being one of the questionable parts of the team is unfortunate. But it's looking better and hopefully will be a strength the next few years--can't have what happened at the end of last year ever happen again.

Yes, despite constantly looking beaten up. That's my point. Brady looks better than Favre did in his mid 30s

TB looks better than any QB who has ever played. TB looks better than 2007 TB right now and the numbers show he is better.

Warren Moon was 41 going on 42 and playing for a bad Seattle team when he threw for 3700 yards, 25 TDs and 16 INTs.

What about George Blanda?

Without the neck problems, the Forehead would still be playing. Barring injury, age will eventually get Tommy boy, sometime before mid 40s.
But without PEDs he would have retired 5 years sooner.

It really is a unique situation. Brady takes such good care of himself, from his diet to conditioning. We can all talk about Favre, Manning, Elway ect.. but they did not do what Tom is doing to keep himself mentally and physically fit. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I for one do believe he will play well until his mid forties. Seeing him come back with out a shred of rust after 4 weeks also totally sold me on the fact that we must trade Jimmy G this offseason, which sucks in a way because I do think the kid would be a perfect heir to Tom, but the timing just is not going to work.

Brady is starting to really push things to unprecedented levels.

Favre at 40 had a really good season. with 33 TDs 7 Int and 4200 yards. It is also worth noting sandwiched between that great season at 40 he had 1 below average one and one just plain bad one.

Manning played well at 37 and 38 and managed to win a superbowl at 39 though he was clearly not very good at 39.

Elway played pretty well at 37 and 38.

Moon had a really good season at 39 with 33 TDs and 14 Ints 4228 yards. He played on and off injured after that. At 41 he did okay in 14 games with 25 TDs 16 Ints 3678 yards with

Those are the best examples i could find of guys playing QB fairly well at that age and usually after 38 no one had back to back good years.

Heres why think he can play until 45

1. Most of the Qb used to prove the inevitable fall off the cliff were qb's who played before the implementation of rules to protect qbs.

2. Toms percieved disadvantage of being unathletic will become an advantage in later age. Tom doesnt rely on athleticism or running around in the pocket. Aaron rodgers is at a severe disadvantage if he cant run around to buy time so as that skillset wanes with age so will his rank as an elite qb. Tom is a pocket qb so him getting slower wont hurt his game.

3. This is a quick release offense. This helps tom because it reduces the hits that causes injuries. Fans of other teams primitively call our offense "dink and dunk" because he gets the ball out so quick in the short to intermediate area.

4. If manning didnt have the issue with his nerves he would have played until about 43. His passes didnt become ducks because of age but because his nerves couldnt improve to normalcy.

5. Brady takes care of his body better than any qb in NFL history. Diet and lifestyle play a huge role in how you age. Roethlisberger, for example doesnt appear to take the same care of his body off the field as evidenced by his pudgy midsection and double chin. If Bradys diet and lifestyle helps him play into his mid 40s it will be the biggest advertisement for the TB12 institute and vindication for the percieved "snake oil salesman" and partner Alex Gurrero.

6. He wouldnt publically admit it but you just know he wants to obliterate all the important records.

7. Tom as far as we know hasnt even pondered retirement. Even his leaked emails about playing longer than manning show that. This is important because once you start questioning whether to retire, you might as well. At 39 favre was a couple of years into the will he or wont he retire shenanigans. At 39 brady publically abd privately want to play for at least 5 more year. Sounds corny but his competitive fire still burns.

Then Jimmy Garoppolo leads the team to a 13-1 record before getting broken in two in the 15th week, we go into the playoffs and lose the first game, and Bill Belichick proceeds to draft Jordan Richards' brother and a running back from Rutgers with those 1st round picks.

We may have deflategate to thank if he plays longer. I saw an artice on fb that made me think... It was one of michael jordans ex teammates (maybe kerr) saying hed have more titles if twitter was around back then because of all the hate and garbage spewed by resentful fans.

Id have to agree. When you have guys as competitive as jordan/brady you KNOW when they see crap trying to slight them, they are that much more motivated to perform. Tom will never say it, but i cant help believe it. we all know the agenda that the media and other fans try to push, and it may just end up only working out for our better - imagine that.

One other important thing. As Brady ages, is still Brady but becomes more fragile BB can't protect him.
Having Brady in a less Brady centric offense it one that focuses even more on protection and getting the ball out before taking hits is better than no Brady at all.

Don't forget Brady takes care of his body well, they hire their own chef that cooks their meals daily, they eat very very healthy, they grow their own vegetables and it's all because of Giselle, she is taking care of the GOAT very well and for that I am greatful yo her because she is prolonging Brady's career.

Brady is proving all these athelites that as long as you take care of your body and eat healthy all year long you can last long in this league.

I was talking about trading Jimmy not Brady?

Damn, this sucks that we're stuck with this guy longer.
