I believe we tend to see eye to on alot of topics including this one. I definitely see your points.

Here's what I'll say. We all collectively agree Bill hands down the best to ever do it, and I'm happy he's in the media now and getting his flowers as he should. What hurt Bill was when TB12 left, it seemingly was left up to stidham to play. When he showed in camp that he wasn't the answer it was the scramble for cam.. and you know what 7-9 in a pandemic looking back at it wasn't terrible.

Then Mac came.. hope was restored. We were actually the # 1 seed at one point during that season, before it all came crashing down. The 2022 off season is where it all went wrong for Bill, Mac and ownership.

Not to rehash as we all lived it. Bill is a highly intelligent guy. I believe he knew the writing was on the wall once the " collaboration " was mentioned. Due to the drafting. So here we are in 2024.. Bill left a hell of a defense and a practice squad offense. Which in turn was a 4-13 team. If ownership tried to withhold $$ then I'd say yeah he was screwed.. but honestly I believe Bill was likely ready to move on as well.
The 2022 off-season was obviously a brutal one but I think it all went wrong because Kraft is jealous of Brady's success without him. If we had had similar trajectory but Brady was our Q and win totals were the exact same each year Bills still here.

I'll agree to that! Watching him win immediately was tough for us as the fans to see.. can only imagine how RK felt. Your right the QB position is what ultimately caused the parting of ways.

I just believe with this generation of players Bills coaching methods became ineffective.. he's still the GOAT of course, but it's probably best he's living it up, and not having to deal with rebuilding after all he's accomplished. 8 rings.. no one is catching him.

Now we're getting into something we can debate more I don't think we can definitively say this. I think we know there are plenty in this generation who don't want or like his methods but we could certainly debate that what these kids want and what's best for someone aren't always the same thing.

I can respect that. What we came to realize is without Brady or a Winning QB.. guys are not willing to come here and take the coaching that Bill provides not the Xs and Os.. the other part of coaching.. being humiliated in front of your team mates.. being called out.. just basically the hard things associated with bills style. Today's generation of players mental health is at the forefront.. is why I said that. What's the players name that was here and left to thrive with the Colts? He said he was broken down and deflated when he was here he said he was made to feel like he was worthless as a player. He turned out to be an all pro caliber DB.. is it Kenny Moore?

Agreed. I just have a question that I'd like to ask.. why do some posters feel Bill got screwed? With the parting of ways?
People build emotional attachments to players and coaches, especially the important ones.

Me personally, I had no problem with the firing of Bill especially after last 5-6 years or so. However, the PR war after that from the Kraft camp was over the top. Not surprising though since that's always been the case when orgs get rid of well liked figures. Pats have done that more than most too.

Thanks for that. That is a very good perspective. How I view it in totality.. Bill was so accomplished and so much of a football savant that the way he treated the media was as if they are beneath him and knew nothing in the realm of what he does. I actually am happy for Bill and the organization that they both accomplished something never ever to be replicated in sports again. I believe until we start to win again.. the organization wants to win back viewers and fan by using the Public relations and being forthcoming. I actually like it myself.

My 10 yr old is a huge pats fan now, unfortunately hes really only gotten to see the bad years live. I’ve shown him all the Super Bowls and key moments of the dynasty, i cant wait until hes old enough to rewatch this show with him lol
I went through the same thing with my oldest during the Bird era. He was a Jordan and Bulls fan until I showed him Bird and Celtic highlights later in life.

Hopefully you got to celebrate 2008 together. I honestly can’t ask anymore out of the patriots, they could 4-13 the rest of my life and ill still always be grateful. But i would just love to be able to celebrate 1 with my boys. Being a pats fan in western pa have mostly just celebrated alone.

We can all talk until we're blue in the face about how or why they split up but I don't really care if they all get along or not. I just enjoyed the **** out of it while it happened.

Bull clearly wanted nothing to do with Kraft. Always find it interesting how badly fans want to see the positive in everything about their team.
Yeah Bill was not happy I don’t think …..had trouble even looking at Bob….

The Celtics were my starting point for sports in the 60's and I celebrate them all.
I actually can remember being in the RF grandstand and seeing Jackie Jensen in RF for the Sox.
And yes, every time I think of that Pats team a big grin comes across my face, just like it is now.
In between were the Bruins in the 70's. What a lineup! I've been blessed.

I have some incredible memories of sports with both of our sons. One played and likes all sports and one doesn't care for sports at all. Interestingly, because the oldest was living abroad it was the youngest, the non sports fan, who went to a few games with me, including the last game of the RS in Charlotte in the 2001 SB year and the 2016 AFCG vs Pitt.

My mom's family was from western PA. They lived on a small farm in Edinborn.

Very cool, imagine you mean edinboro… I’ve been there a few times, my first time skiing was in edinboro. Talk about a disaster!

Shockingly not all sunshine and rainbows

Feeling bad for BB losing his audience there! But sounds like everyone was anticipating a blowout or something.
