I wouldn't call it "crap". The man has 5 Super Bowl rings, an undefeated regular season, a bust in the Hall-of-Fame waiting, and has forgotton more about football between his alarm clock and his coffee than any of us know.
We read second-hand scouting reports by people who aren't good enough evaluators to work in the NFL, interspersed with Youtube highlights, and a few games on television, and somehow we are more informed than the guys who watch a seasons worth of game tape more than once and talk to the players' former coaches and opposition.
News Flash: Belichick ALWAYS makes the correct decision at the time it's being made. Yeah, we can look back and say we thought Greg Jennings was a better pick than Chad Jackson, or that we should have traded up for DeMarcus Ware, and we would've been lucky enough to be right in those cases. And none of us would have drafted Mankins in the 1st round or Vollmer in the 2nd.
Look at all the players who were favorites of this board over the past 5 years who are marginal players or out of the league.
So yeah, In BB I trust. He knows the system he wants to run, what specific players best fit the holes that exist, and the likelihood of those players' success. He knows which players he plans to keep in 2011 and which he'll let move on. He knows which backups are ready for more important duties and which will never be.
We, even the most knowledgable of us, don't know Jack.
