If any of you ever came to know that without a doubt, the outcome of which team wins the SB, or which two teams gets to the SB, or reasonable facsimile thereof. That essentially, the NFL is rigged to any significant degree, would you still watch the NFL, let alone support it by whatever financial means that one can support it? I've always been curious as to what the average Fan's reaction to such a thing would be.

The National Football League would overnight become the No Longer Exists League.
Not just for me and most fans but for their antitrust exemption as well. Franchise values would be devastated and the owners and their teams would get sued to high heaven by the players when the revenue to pay them dried up. The gambling interest$ lawyers would be close behind them followed by season ticket holders and advertisers.
Bigger scandal than Madoff & Enron on steroids

Absolutely! By the way, a very well thought out and comprehensive answer!

Absolutely!

Not all the news would be bad though. Goodell would kill himself, go to jail or be hiding in the Maldives. So at least we'd definitely never hear from him again.

No I would not. But this begs the question....

Why do so many people claim the NFL is rigged and yet still watch..??

Not only would I watch, I would gamble heavily on those outcomes

That's an excellent question. If I knew for a fact that it was, I'd be done with it. I suspect though, that I'm more likely to stop watching the NFL if the constant bombardment of political and social issues from the NFL, the Owners, Coaching Staff's, Players, and Broadcaster's isn't severely curtailed, if not eliminated. Can I just have a few hours on a Sunday to be entertained and be without all of that other stuff that I can't avoid the rest of the week? I was a rabid Celtics Fan up until about 8 years ago, and then, the NBA became unwatchable to me for those very reasons. I haven't watched an NBA game in all of that time.

Same here. The sport I am a hardcore fan of - football - kept me on. The sports I was a casual fan of lost my business.

Well I would make a lot of money off betting

if fans that stop watching it (if it were fixed) doesn't destroy it, the lawyers of players with life time injuries would, i cannot imagine the deceit they would feel and revenge they would seek

i would stop watching and never buy another NFL/patriots sponsored product

Because its the new fan cry. Refs didnt all of the sudden become bad. Missed calls didnt all of the sudden start happening. There is a reason they brought in instant replay years ago. Fans cannot just say their team lost, they cant just say the other team played better and won, so the new cry is, its rigged. Its nothing more then that.

Why do folks need to ask a question other than this political season. Yes, in our society it acceptable to say that a system is rigged when you don't like the outcome or how the system is run.

Obviously, if the NFL became professional wrestling, fewer would watch on TV (where the money is made).

I bet on it in every sportsbook in the country! Then happily watch the rigged game and tell no one that I knew the outcome ahead of time!

Rince, lather, repeat!
