BB, every week, says that the next opponent excels at all three phases of the game, and has lots of guys who are threats to make big plays.

I'm wondering how that might work about the Patriots, who at various points this season HAVE excelled in all phases of the game, and in multiple variants (e.g. passing offenser/rushing offense, which after Sunday is the example that made me think of starting this thread).

The pats are lieutenant Dan in the crows nest during the hurricane ...... 'you call this a storm? I'm right here......come and get me.....just you and me.......you'll never get me....hahahahaha!'

"They're a good team"

(Without Wilfork/Mayo/Gronk, but with Talib/McCourty/Dennard all healthy)

-Solid overall defense that is weak against the run with a near elite secondary group, as long as Arrington is in nickel and Talib/Dennard/Ryan are on the outside. The D also has underrated pass rush, finishing 5th in sacks with 48.

-A top 10 offense with an average passing game, top 10 rushing attack, and of course the GOAT is at qb. (offense 3rd in PPG and 7th in yards)

-Solid STs with a great punter/gunner combo, a great kicker for kickoffs, and a nothing special KR game.

I think he'd talk about Slater, Allen, Gost and the special teams play, after this week Blount would be added to the mix so he'd say special teams need to be sharp. He'd talk about disrupting the running game because it's been a strength, but also playing smart on defense because Brady can torch anyone. And he'd talk about a turnovers and penalties, not giving the Pats more chances than they need because they're an opportunistic, smart team that doesn't often shoot themselves in the foot.

Basically, he'd be as full of praise but also cryptic, as he is with all the Pats opponents.
