They've got six—but how many of those will they actually use? Inquiring minds want to know.

[I didn't put zero as an option because they have to use #97.]

Edit: Changed title to please the pedants.

I think they will use four. One may be used to move up to grab someone or to get a good pick in 2010.

As voted 4 also, we have 6 in the first 100. A trade into 2010, and a packaging or two to trade up or down, settling on 4 picks in the first 100.
Just guess, I really have no idea what they will do on day 1.....

Re: How many picks will the Pats USE in the top 100?

Five. A slight move up from #23 for the right player. Or, any tradeup after #23. Third round picks with BB are always expendable, and in this draft we also have mucho second-rounders, allowing us to move one of them. My preference would be to part with only a 3rd-rounder -- for a targeted player.

Quite frankly, it's hard to imagine BB just sitting on his hands...and waiting...for each pick... :scream:

didnt we do this poll already?

We'll "use" all of them, whether that's in a trade or selection.

:agree: Seems they'll get the top 4-5 players they can, then try like hell to defer the following 3-4 picks they can trade (not including 5th and 6th round comps) to 2010. They just can't come out of this draft with 11 rookies. Wouldn't make sense.

Can't have 2007 again, with 9 rookies chosen and only Meriweather and Mike Richardson still on the team. (Not counting Moss as a draft pick.) :ugh:

If they want to "dump" those low picks, they're better off just using them to trade up in the earlier rounds (e.g, trade their 6 to move from, say, #47 to #44 or something).

I would say 4, using one for a 2010 pick and one for a trade for a vet.....Maybe 85??

I think they'll use four with the other going to trade up for a player and one other traded for a pick in next year's draft.
